  • maybe his addiction to meth is what gave him his inspiration. things work strangely sometimes...

  • Man I freakin love this song. I wish they would make more music together they were so awesome. Travis Meeks voice was way older and wiser than his years!!!!

  • One of the greatest songs ever. And they are from here muahahaaha

  • Porra!!! Eu odeio clicar em um vídeo e vir essa merda de propaganda do Youtube!!!

  • @clayopalstar.. you wouldnt happen to be his friend Levi would you? sounds like something he would say. this is Chris Davis. comment: my favorite song by Travis.

  • @slikford,

No, just a fan who loved this band. I lost track of Travis for awhile, only to see him on an episode of "Intervention" for his meth addiction. It's too bad he couldn't mend his ties to the original band and give us more music like this (even though this isn't even the first DOTN). I respect him for fighting the addiction and performing again nonetheless.

  • I feel like the world never gave him enough credit. Stupid assholes...

  • only 36,000 views... shame.... thats what meth will do i guess

  • i wish i could write songs like this guy (travis meeks)

  • Skiiiiiiirtttt... I have had the displeasure of meeting this tool bag on a few occasions, being from the same city and music scene.. Hes talented, but I have nothing good to say about him personally.. Hes an asshole on and off drugs.. The guitarist, Matt tall is a very cool cat though...

  • @AudioEpidemic Hate to tell you this but Matt Taull is a drummer, and a badass one at that. Todd Whitener was the other guitarist besides Travis. Jesse Vest was the bassist. I also am from the same area as them. But all the same, Travis is an ass. Todd however is a class act and is doing his on thing now.

  • @natergtr,

When Travis "fired" his first (and best) band,it was the start of his downward spiral...

  • @clayopalstar travis is the band bro

  • @therdmbf42,

That's what Travis thought too... but that didn't turn out too well for him.

The first DOTN had an undeniable chemistry.

Once you destroy it, you can never replicate the same feeling with "another" DOTN...

  • @clayopalstar i disagree i think days of the new will always be days of the new...it's travis' mind and music any way you look at it.

  • Fuckin LOVE these guys!! Great band!!!

  • This would be a great song for gears of war 3.

  • the best song and the best artist over earth

  • !!!!!!!!

  • and for all assholes judge n all his additions.........get out of the closet and the one with no additions weather it be food, sex or drugs...through the first stone..........be the sorry hypercritical veil wearing ass still lying to yourself. Whats your talent.....mines "telling the difference between a garage band and single being with extreme natural skills..Love your ass Travis.

  • this dude is totally amazing;saw him a couple yrs back in the burro, just Travis and this kickass drumer...thats it and they fucking rocked out,it was unbeleiveable....wish they had videoed that set ,.these two guys left me speechless and thats takes talent itself. Wish i new where they were go n be...would love to know where there next gig was...id damn sure be there...past or no past Travis is one talented dude regardless of what any asshole has to say about additions.

  • I remember on 89X back in 99' they said he recorded "Green" on Magical Mushrooms. I was like OMG that awesome! back then, not now you noobs

  • So unfortunate that more people don't know about this band. Travis Meeks is the greatest musician of my generation. Thanks a lot for the upload.

  • to all those people out there saying bad stuff about travis if u can't say anything nice don't say anything at all. all your negative input can effect a person more than u realize

  • to all those people out there saying bad stuff about travis if u can't say anything nice don't say anything at all

  • this song is the epitome of pure wanting and emotion

  • Great band! they opened for Aerosmith New Years December 1997 in Boston Fleet Center at the time! Great night... Travis Meeks, stay clean man!!!!!

  • Anything good that comes out of Indiana doesnt last long. DOTN will be missed.

  • Amazing, would love to see them live!!

  • HOLDING OUT TO YOU!!!!

  • AMAZING. LONG LIVE TRAVIS MEEKS.

  • Such a great song. I've always liked them, but I had no idea they were this good.

  • Awesome vid man, always loved this song. Im prolly one of the few under 20 that listen to this. Amazing shit though.

  • Great song. thanks for this one.

  • Travis has such an amazing voice - can't get enough of it!

  • amazing collage of photos...thank you...i know 'kids' about 20ish, who have never heard of them, and i keep telling them to check them out.....still in my mind one of the best bands in the last 25 yrs........

  • I met Travis backstage after a show at Chaser's in Scottsdale, AZ last week. The rest of his band didn't show up and he was pissed, but he still exchanged a few words with me. "Thanks for sticking around, thanks for the support." That's really all he said. It was still an amazing show with only him and his guitar. I should have jumped up on stage and jammed on the drums! Hmm...

  • I gotta say, his music was better when he was hooked on meth. His new cd purple is a little weird for my taste. It's not the same DOTN

  • @oaklandrmoss18 I'd put that differently... he was amazing at 16, touring with Metallica. DOTN then fell apart due to Travis and his drug use (cocaine, not meth) and he formed a new group for "Green" in 99. Still using but functional, Travis was incredible with The Doors in 2000. He looked good and sounded great! Shortly afterward he started using meth, and everything fell apart. He ended up on an episode of Intervention in 2005, and even though he's clean, his creative soul was badly damaged...

  • @clayopalstar I couldn't have said it better myself.

  • @clayopalstar all this info you have said is great but most Days of the new fans or Travis Meeks fans already know this ,and there happens to be alot more detailed info on google if you want to find out more then what you have posted

  • @clayopalstar I find no deterioration. Have you heard "Boundaries" and "Remake Her"? And Purple isn't out, so don't even judge. He's working on it. He has a whole life in front of him to make up for 5 lost years.

  • @oaklandrmoss18 i think he has grown alot of great music has been created while under the infuence of drugs and alchohol but he is a gutiar genius he prefers the smaller venues now and has wanted to explore the different styles he is still the same man and very artistic he is autistic he is amazing dont sell him short yet he is young

  • @oaklandrmoss18

I love this song. I met Travis after a show in NC a few yrs ago. Meth definitely took its toll on the dude (you could see it, but he played well). He was very accessible and signed CDs for a free show! I wish him the best. He is am amazing musician.

  • @oaklandrmoss18 i disagree i think some the songs ive heard off of purple are excellent, guitar work is amazing, and the lyrics are metaphorical and slightly odd as dotn is known for

  • @clayopalstar im right by ctown. in jeff suburbs. placed called steeplechase. where are you now?

  • @sneak108 Pensacola, FL... BP's dumping ground.

I used to run the roads in Jeffersonville, Clarksville and Silverburg. There was nothing to do in ctown but drive around getting high and avoiding the cops. I will say that I saw so many great concerts in Looavul though... Led Zep in '77, Starz, Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush, Nazareth, The Rolling Stones, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Aerosmith, Nugent, Yes, Rush and so many more. No concert action down here in LA (lower alabama) except for country acts.

  • @clayopalstar i know someone who went to that zep show in 77 too lol. thats cool

  • @clayopalstar if you was running from the cops in ctown then you ran from about 2 of em lol. did you ever hang on the square?? i used to play ball in the valley

  • Charlestown indiana baby!! travis meeks is one of the badest rockers ever. period

  • I was a big fan of this band in the 90s then lost track of them...are they still touring ? whats the latest?

  • @hurrydish They broke up, it just meeks now. He was hooked on meth for years but apparantley is clean now

  • @oaklandrmoss18 hes clean now is what i hear from around here where hes at and from.

  • @hurrydish they broke up. some of them formed the baND TANTRIC. AND THE LEAD SINGER MADE ANOTHER ALMBUM AS DAYS OF THE NEW BY HIMSELF. I BELIEVE THIS IS ONE OF HIS OWN.

  • Travis Meeks sucks... but his music is the best ever.

  • @webpunker your not a ctown hater are you? he gets no break from his home town

  • beautiful song, the theme song of my life...

  • not very know out there, i saw the singer on intervention, he was hooked on ice, too bad... they coulda got real big

  • @nolanGGA That's old common knowledge. He's sold millions of albums and toured with Metallica at 16. He's big.

  • tysm. Awesome awesome song... and Really great sound quality. :)

  • This song is awesome. Can never hear too much of this.
