me and my friends were front and center for this. eric copelands performance was absolutely deafening lol. definitely the loudest sound ive ever heard.
those speakers they use are amazing. i waited after the show to ask them about them and their other gear. evidently they only use the clubs systems for vocals. more bands need to use their own hand picked systems. it all comes out so much clearer on equipment chosen specifically for the music. plus bass so deep it rattles your whole skeleton is always fun :)
i was front and center trancing out to the rainbow lights AC had blaring. when panda's bass would drop i felt my soul shake as well.. good memories. glad i got to see this tour a couple more times that month.
i talked to him in seattle and asked him about this and another song.. i wasn't able to articulate it very well but he basically answered that he has played a lot of old unreleased stuff and new mixed stuff. as for my personal veiw.. i listened very closely to this against Hermaphrodite and believe it is the title track #1 - hermaphrodite.. coming in a close second was track 6. mouthhole. you be the judge.. he was probably reusing samples which would make it hard to tell.. enjoy.
You should always bring earplugs to concerts. It's common sense. Hearing is something you can never get back.

Animal Collective was ridiculously loud that night too though...seriously I have permanent damage in my right ear. My hearing will never be the same!

If you listen to side B of Strange Days he uses these samples. It's in a different pitching, but it's easy to tell.
