There isn't enough information in this video for me to agree that this was a case of police brutality. In the first place, where is the audio? For all we know, the driver may have communicated hostility or threats towards the cop which would justify the amount of force that was used. The guy was stopped and started moving his car when the officer got out of his car, he was told to get out of the car and get on the ground and wouldn't do so, the officer tried to put him on the ground and the criminal put his hands on the officer in resistance. At that point in time the taser is the least brutal option that the officer had and he did exactly what he's supposed to for his own safety, and the safety of the criminal in subduing him. The comments on this video are ridiculous.
Is that officer in an unmarked car by any chance? That guy only resisted when he was man handled by the obviously emotionally immature officer. There was a time when officers were taught to de-escalate conflict rather than rely on the taser.

There isn't enough information in this video for me to agree that this was a case of police brutality. In the first place, where is the audio? For all we know, the driver may have communicated hostility or threats towards the cop which would justify the amount of force that was used. Is there anyone on this site that could tell me the reason for the traffic stop, the outcome of the arrest, and also the history of the driver? I would greatly appreciate it.

The guy was stopped and started moving his car when the officer got out of his car, he was told to get out of the car and get on the ground and wouldn't do so, the officer tried to put him on the ground and the criminal put his hands on the officer in resistance. At that point in time the taser is the least brutal option that the officer had and he did exactly what he's supposed to for his own safety, and the safety of the criminal in subduing him. The comments on this video are ridiculous.

It looked like he kept driving after the cop tried to stop him and then it looks as though he resisted getting down on the ground.
It was evaluated by DPS in Austin who noted that the officer did no wrong. The guy was definitely guilty of resisting, thus deserving of the taser.
When an officer says to get down on the ground and you don't, expect a taser.

No clue, but the officer did have what looked like a Sheriff vest on so the guy should have known it was an officer judging by that and the badges on his front. And yea, most officers now just resort to the taser because it lessens their risk. This cop was being hostile though. It seems the guy forgot to put the car in park at first. He hesitated to get out because it seems he was asked to turn off the car, which he did. The cop then puts his hands on the driver AS SOON AS he gets out. Unless the cop already knew that he was a wanted criminal he shouldn't have done that OR aimed the taser at the driver from the 1st step. Admit it, a taser gun to your face will make you nervous. I know I get a bit nervous at a routine stop.

Officers are given tasers to make sure that they are kept safe and the criminal is kept safe. The other option is to risk injury or death to either the officer or the suspect.
