I was at that match, sitting with a majority of Eels fans at the ground (who bought their tickets thinking they would've been in it) were supporting St-George).
When the so called tackle on Smith took place, the bulk of them screamed "he dropped the ball", until the replay was shown. The collective 'Oh!' from the crowd after seeing the high tackle was apparent and any demands of a turn over were gone.... . I don't know why St George fans complain about the high tackle that lost them the game; there is no way that shot wasn't high, he was definitely going to get the ball down and it was a vicious tackle. He was going to score no matter what so it deserved a penalty try. I agree with this call and I absolutely hate Melbourne, but even though I hate them so much there is no denying that he was going to score and possibly win the match for them.
