  • Goosebumps...

  • Why is she moving slowly?

  • @imagreatbigman

Unfortunately, no. Since they've been working on her for 13 years and almost 1.6 million dollars has been spent and no luck. I do wish they could've sent #1361 to Strasburg, and someone could pay it all, etc. sadly it won't happen, but at least we get to have her on a display and not scrapped.

  • will the 1361 ever run again???

  • Can't wait to drive this in Railworks 3!!

  • what horn is that on CR 1647

  • Great video. I love the fact that a good crowd turned out to see her go by.

  • i love the horn on #1647

  • excuse my ignorance, but what does a "shakedown" run mean?

  • @chico4449 Test Run

  • Sounds like the trains are having an arguement

  • EPIC whistle

  • @kickflip1234100 Yep, you can't beat a well-tuned Pennsy whistle! If you liked this sound, watch my other video "PRR I1sa Running Light", especially around the 2:23 mark when it gets further away and the echos get more pronounced....haunting and beautiful. If you've got good speakers, listen to it real loud....trust me.

  • one word to describe the old Pennsy whistles: "mournful". i remember hearing those dulcet tones in the distance as a child, late at night, when the trains would pass a half mile from our house.

  • This is beutiful, the sound of 1361 whistling Shows she's very proud to be steaming and to be the spirit of Altoona, best vid I've ever seen of her

  • where is the 1361 now???

  • @imagreatbigman I believe in Steamtown, but it is going to get moved very soon to Altoona to be ressembled.

  • @Bassfanatic94 nice i hope they get her steaming again

  • @abrownyo I went to Steamtown about 6 years ago and i took the shop tour, and I remember seeing the K-4's frame up on a suspension frame. The wheels were all over the shop and a mechanic was welding part of the smokestack.

  • @Bassfanatic94 why the heck don't they give the 1361 over to Strasburg? they'll have her up and running in a few months

  • @tachikoma747 I don't know, but it probably would be hard to do in their facilities. The K4 is a huge engine and by huge I mean monstrous. Also, their tracks probably aren't suited for its weight and it is very very very hard to keep a K4 with 80 inch drivers and superheaters under 30 miles an hour. Also, contracts probably would get in the way too.

  • @tachikoma747 - more like a few years, since SRR has their hands full with other projects, such as an ex- LIRR G5 4-6-0... and that engine is undergoing the same firebox repairs 1361 was supposed to have...

  • I hope she is going to run again. Altoona needs her.

  • thats pretty sweet. Great weather for steam.

  • This is definatly not your typical pacing shot.

Thanks a bunch for sharing this one.
