scary as aliens vs predators when you play as a marine, it looks more like a normal action game than a horror game... Other than that, the game still seems like its going to be amazing, the multiplayer coop really seems to be a nice touch and it looks rather loyal to the aliens movie if you konow what i mean :)

Opinions: Pros: Not a 'solo-shooter' (as there are other bots, not just you and your friends) IT'S ALIENS (which is like 15 pros at least) Awesome graphics Love the aliens Ai (from what we could see) Cons: Pulse Rifle didn't sound right at some times Acid had no visible effect on character (see 4:50) (don't know if I missed it or not) close encounter was scripted, not reliant on player input Other than that, can't wait to play it. :)

if it's a work in progress...It could be perfected by it's release time. I'm a huge fan of the original Alien films and I have played many of the other Alien/Predator games. They were all disappointing. This looks hopeful.

I don't think Weyland-Yutani would have designed these colonies to prevent Aliens from moving through them. Vents are for heat and air conditioning. Even if WY knew about the Aliens before building this place, they probably would have left the vents, anyway, if only to give the Aliens better access. What I am thinking about this aftermath Hadley's Hope is that Ripley would be mighty pissed if she knew the processor explosion did nothing to destroy the Aliens as originally intended.

The vents are also needed for heating and cooling. Without them people would die.
If they wanted to make an Aliens game they should have just given the project to the creators of Dead space, and make it a Thirdperson survival. FPS game are always Action over Horror and Suspense, i mean just look at it. a swarm of aliens are killed head on, they completely undersell the power of the Xenos, in the movies one alien would take out like 3 dudes befor they even had time to shoot back,.

This looks pretty sick. I'm glad they actually stuck with the sound effects from the movie. That was my pet peeve in AVP. I love the sound of the pulse rifle and smart gun, but AVP screwed it up. While the commentator is kind of a dork, I agree that they stayed true to the movie. I'm stoked for this, I've been waiting for a good aliens game forever. I'm actually surprised it's taken this long to make a high budget game based on the movie. Games steal from it anyways, why not make the real thing?

Bungie just stole the concept of Aliens (Parasitic aliens) Modeled the Marines after the Colonial Marines, stole most of the dialogue from Aliens, modeled the elites after Predator. (Even gave them the same technology)

If a squad-mate NPC, was killed, a rescue operation to the hive zone could be an optional level. Especially if said NPC was crucial to later gameplay. Additionally, rescue ops could also be a gamble, sometimes resulting in the rescue of an impregnated marine...
Other details: Having an APC, or Dropship where you can order the operator/pilot to drop your squad at one of numerous entry points to a level to tactical benefit, allowing you to choose the order of levels/ locations played.
I personally want an intelligent tactical game. Level design switching between rescue ops to securing areas or ultimately last-stand levels, where you detail your squad to the barricading of zone. You, the player are held in suspense, awaiting to see when, and how many xenos breach your barricades. Evac, or chase levels that have you scrambling to gather your marines to one eva point, with xenos picking off crucial team-members, without whom, completing may not be possible.
This is what I would like to See in an Aliens product:
Slow creeping dread. Level design that is about tactical planning- ie, observing blueprints for likely breach-areas and then ordering your team to barricade penetrable areas, welding doors, ducts, moving heavy equip over entryways.
Team mate command: Commanding a squad of unique marines that possess non-interchangeable skillsets: engineers who weld, medics, smart-gun operators, flamethrower operators, comtechs who bypass security measures.
my only issue at the moment with this is, it looks too easy. Nothing is really attacking you, just everyone else for the most part. A few are going after you yeah, but not often enough to make you go through that "oh shit oh shit oh shit!" moment that some games give you when you have to run in circles trying to find a way to kill the 6 chasing you xD
Probably later on though. I think they said this was an earlier part of the game.
This guy sounds so enthused. And what's with the iron sights on the M41A pulse rifle? Why can't they put the sights within the carrying handle's rails? They didn't have iron sights on top in the movies, so why now? Take the Famas' standard iron sights, they are with in the carrying handle, and they are concealed. Why can't the pulse rifle have that?
Surround sound was really helpful in the old AvP1 game (i think it was Aureal back then).. You just fire in the direction that you thought the sound was coming from and managed to stay alive a little longer :)
i loved the first [1999?for pc] AvP game mainly for the marine SP and co-op. getting 3 buddies to work as a team defending a point was great fun. AvP2[again for pc] looked better but lacked co-op so was a huge letdown and complaints on the forum about lack of co-op kinda said it all. so, 1st AvP? great AvP2.. ok SP but... the more recent AvP[2010?] i played on xbox and got bored very quickly.truly awful. but this looks good. more focused. marines vs aliens. that's fine by me. and co op PLEASE!
A few items did look hoaky, but for the most part, this looks awesome. With another half a year or so to polish this, I think it's going to be an amazing game, and a great tribute to the movies.

it's called an Alpha guys...if you can even call it that, we still have a year for it to come out, if the game is ANYTHING like the marine gameplay from the more recent AvP game but LONGER and more focused on the single player, then this will be an awesome game, because i loved the marine gameplay in AvP, the multiplayer was good but repetitive, so im gonna put my money on the survival missions and the co-op if there is any of that, which i certainly hope there will be.
Well I actually liked AVP the game, so long as I didn't think of the film. It actually turned a lame-concept into a decent one. And the story didn't blow in any of the AVP games. There were no rhino aliens. No pred-queens that impregnate via kisses. No Manga-power-loaders with flamethrower arms....
If the rhino aliens go, the powerloaders are used only for similar-sized opponents, and the gameplay is more squad-command-based, then sure, I'll buy this and any dlc...
Martial-arts power loaders? So cool. Giraffe and rhino aliens? Most awesome things ever! But you know what would be really cool? Super-aliens that are 100 foot tall tor a really awesome boss level. Oh, oh! And T-Rex aliens that spit acid sharks!
Oh and power loaders with inbuilt flamethrowers!

As a huge Alien fan, I have to say this looks pretty good for a demo.
Things they need to change:
- The blood, it looks too cartoonish
- Better lighting effects
- Give you freedom with were you place the turrets (Think Half-Life 2)
- Acid blood that melts parts of the world (even if it's just a little bit)
- Take some ideas from AvP, such as the crawling aliens, and blood splashes
- More unique looking "new breeds"
I'll be buying this as soon as it comes out!

Oh yeah and it would be cool if the Alien AI system was as sophisticated as Rage's AI. The enemies in Rage were really smart and acrobatic. Aliens should be 10 times better than them, honestly. Stoked for this game.

I don't think Weyland-Yutani would have designed these colonies to prevent Aliens from moving through them. Vents are for heat and air conditioning. Even if WY knew about the Aliens before building this place, they probably would have left the vents, anyway, if only to give the Aliens better access. What I am thinking about this aftermath Hadley's Hope is that Ripley would be mighty pissed if she knew the processor explosion did nothing to destroy the Aliens as originally intended.

The vents are also needed for heating and cooling. Without them people would die.

If they wanted to make an Aliens game they should have just given the project to the creators of Dead space, and make it a Thirdperson survival. FPS game are always Action over Horror and Suspense, i mean just look at it. a swarm of aliens are killed head on, they completely undersell the power of the Xenos, in the movies one alien would take out like 3 dudes befor they even had time to shoot back,.

This looks pretty sick. I'm glad they actually stuck with the sound effects from the movie. That was my pet peeve in AVP. I love the sound of the pulse rifle and smart gun, but AVP screwed it up. While the commentator is kind of a dork, I agree that they stayed true to the movie. I'm stoked for this, I've been waiting for a good aliens game forever. I'm actually surprised it's taken this long to make a high budget game based on the movie. Games steal from it anyways, why not make the real thing?

i love the alien franchise so i hope this game is done very well i mean the franchise itself has everything to make a true blockbuster game i hope it isnt full of action but instead have a more creepy feel and i really hope they have alien play available on mutiplayer they just need to use the mechanics from avp alien gameplay and tweak it a little

I love the aliens soooo much but i dont like the predators as much. The whole aliens story is like oh shit their in the vents and on the ceiling. their creepy crawly aliens. the predators are cliche alien things with laser guns. Ill make an exception for covenant elies, aliens with crazy tech and active camo.

All Halo is, is a rip off of every famous 80's Sci-Fi.
Bungie just stole the concept of Aliens (Parasitic aliens) Modeled the Marines after the Colonial Marines, stole most of the dialogue from Aliens, modeled the elites after Predator. (Even gave them the same technology)
The only reason I got into Halo, was because it reminded me of Aliens.

I just hope you can play as the Xenomorph online.
But the crusher? it seems a bit unoriginal as it shows similar looks as the queen.

If a squad-mate NPC, was killed, a rescue operation to the hive zone could be an optional level. Especially if said NPC was crucial to later gameplay. Additionally, rescue ops could also be a gamble, sometimes resulting in the rescue of an impregnated marine...
Other details: Having an APC, or Dropship where you can order the operator/pilot to drop your squad at one of numerous entry points to a level to tactical benefit, allowing you to choose the order of levels/ locations played.

I personally want an intelligent tactical game. Level design switching between rescue ops to securing areas or ultimately last-stand levels, where you detail your squad to the barricading of zone. You, the player are held in suspense, awaiting to see when, and how many xenos breach your barricades. Evac, or chase levels that have you scrambling to gather your marines to one eva point, with xenos picking off crucial team-members, without whom, completing may not be possible.

This is what I would like to See in an Aliens product:
Slow creeping dread. Level design that is about tactical planning- ie, observing blueprints for likely breach-areas and then ordering your team to barricade penetrable areas, welding doors, ducts, moving heavy equip over entryways.
Team mate command: Commanding a squad of unique marines that possess non-interchangeable skillsets: engineers who weld, medics, smart-gun operators, flamethrower operators, comtechs who bypass security measures.

my only issue at the moment with this is, it looks too easy. Nothing is really attacking you, just everyone else for the most part. A few are going after you yeah, but not often enough to make you go through that "oh shit oh shit oh shit!" moment that some games give you when you have to run in circles trying to find a way to kill the 6 chasing you xD
Probably later on though. I think they said this was an earlier part of the game.

This guy sounds so enthused. And what's with the iron sights on the M41A pulse rifle? Why can't they put the sights within the carrying handle's rails? They didn't have iron sights on top in the movies, so why now? Take the Famas' standard iron sights, they are with in the carrying handle, and they are concealed. Why can't the pulse rifle have that?

Surround sound was really helpful in the old AvP1 game (i think it was Aureal back then).. You just fire in the direction that you thought the sound was coming from and managed to stay alive a little longer :)

i loved the first [1999?for pc] AvP game mainly for the marine SP and co-op. getting 3 buddies to work as a team defending a point was great fun. AvP2[again for pc] looked better but lacked co-op so was a huge letdown and complaints on the forum about lack of co-op kinda said it all. so, 1st AvP? great AvP2.. ok SP but... the more recent AvP[2010?] i played on xbox and got bored very quickly.truly awful. but this looks good. more focused. marines vs aliens. that's fine by me. and co op PLEASE!

it's called an Alpha guys...if you can even call it that, we still have a year for it to come out, if the game is ANYTHING like the marine gameplay from the more recent AvP game but LONGER and more focused on the single player, then this will be an awesome game, because i loved the marine gameplay in AvP, the multiplayer was good but repetitive, so im gonna put my money on the survival missions and the co-op if there is any of that, which i certainly hope there will be.

Well I actually liked AVP the game, so long as I didn't think of the film. It actually turned a lame-concept into a decent one. And the story didn't blow in any of the AVP games. There were no rhino aliens. No pred-queens that impregnate via kisses. No Manga-power-loaders with flamethrower arms....
If the rhino aliens go, the powerloaders are used only for similar-sized opponents, and the gameplay is more squad-command-based, then sure, I'll buy this and any dlc...

Martial-arts power loaders? So cool. Giraffe and rhino aliens? Most awesome things ever! But you know what would be really cool? Super-aliens that are 100 foot tall tor a really awesome boss level. Oh, oh! And T-Rex aliens that spit acid sharks!
