so correct me if I'm wrong but basically what I gathered from this is that you painted the arm in a flat black base coat, and then once that dried you used the dry brushing technique to add the metallic color on the arm.
I painted the 2 chest pieces black and dry brushed them. Could you spray paint sideways red body pieces with any type of black because when I dry brushed it but the paint won't stay on? Do you have any ideas that can help me out anyways awesome video it really helped :)
@84ironhide I wasnt in the best mood when I wrote that, so I just felt the need to be pricky. Good job by the way, if you were good at customizing in 2009 then I know your AWESOME now!
can anyone send me a vid to show how to make the paint reaaly smooth by spraypaintingand how to spraypaint properly and or by using a brush? please and good vid it helps with most thing
good job im doing the same thing as well but with model master paint so far so good im wounding if you know a better way to wash the transformers to give them a good black line on parts thanks
well, there is as you know the techinique called blackwashing, but there is also a technique called black lining. Black lining is when you use an extremely thin brush with black paint on it and fill in the line with the brush. Go with an acrylic paint, these are made to mix with water.
Blackwashing is when you water down black paint and brush it over the figure. this gives the figure a dull dirty look, it also brings out the lines of the figure makes the lines more defined
What I did was my first custom I chose one that i didn't like that much and it turned out good so i did it to all of my other figures so now all of them are awesome!!!
well, you can start with either one. If you start with a flat black then it will make it look even more worn. Gloss gives it a little more of a shine. but they both look great!
Awesome, hope my video helps! I will post an update to this video soon. I did some more detail work. Remember, the less paint on your brush the better!
Well to accomplish a look like that ,u want to start out with a black base. Then from there lighten it up wit hvarious grays, silvers, or steel silver. Just try it on various things to test different methods.
Cool video..beast wars in the background. lol.
