I tried using slax to put mine into B mode,or whatever, and I never got the "spinning up disc...." message. So I was just going to try a different way to put it into B mode, but I found out that my drive on my xbox hitachi 0078fk doesn't open anymore. And now a computer won't recognize it either. I got everything down however I'm stuck at the point where I'm suppose to actually flash it mode b. I went to my bios and set to boot up (cd drive first and disable everything else) and when I do that after it restarts it says disk boot error please insert system disk and press enter. I have slax in the cd drive of the computer and the 360 is running. However slax doesnt want to run.

BAN waves and waves. BAN waves is a massive ban every year where MS bans people that flash their xbox (usually around November)

Normal waves is the video file that the developers put in their game. Every game has a wave number (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, etc). Games that have wave 1,2 are safe to play online if the abgx scan shows green. Games that have wave 3,4,5,6 need to be patched with SSv2 and must be green in abgx to be safe online.

I have a benq drive, this is a hitachi ( the hardest to flash). I recommend you use DosFlash. put a few searces in to get an idea on how to do it. I'm gonna be flashing my 360 this week if I can ever get any dual layered dvds ( fuckin expensive)
