GREAT JOB! I've been working on a design for a similar size unit to power a 1971 Honda Enduro on/off road bike...

Do you have any drawings or plans that you used to specifically help with your small engine design?

I've been using the FEMA manual & TB Reed's Handbook of Biomass Downdraft Gasifier Engine Sys/SERI book. Any other sources I should look at? Have a website with photos I could see of your construction setup?

Excellent project! I would have thought a smaller engine would be harder to do? How's the power on hills? Have you checked for tar?

The tar issue is a thing of the past. The big wood box on the front of the trailer is the filter. It is multilayered, oil-bath, foam, then compacted fiberglass. As far as power on the hills, with the whole bike, trailer, and me for a total of nearly 400lbs with the fact it is only a 5HP engine, it does pretty freaking well. It is really surprising. Without an offset key, you can't adjust the timing on this engine. On gasoline, it does 40 (GPS speed), I still need to check it's top on wood.
