I probably shouldn't be saying this since I can't jump as far as he can, but his technique was perfect.He started with a slow run then applied some speed to it. when he was almost to the board,he slowed down perfectly and then jump.This is a way he can get a medal at the 2012 Olympics.

To all up and coming LJ's.....this is about as close to perfect as u can get when it comes to running off of the board and pushing off the penultimate step.....The take-off is flawless....If he had held the hang a tenth of a second longer, instead of coming down early he probably would have gone like 8.80m

My pr is only like 7.48m or something....I used to drag my foot in the sand somehow before i stretched out to land giving me three marks in the pit and they measured the back mark which use to cut my jumps off by like 2 feet....I just got frustrated with LJ and stuck with HJ only....But my run was not fast at all....This video though of this jump is damn near (THE PERFECT) jump

I think you can jump sub 8m, if you train long jump rightly.

Do you know about that the present world record is standing high jump is 1,90m (guiness book of records) form a scandinavian.

Your best is 1,88m! you can beat it...

Yea...I've just been lazy with trying to break it....My friend always gets on me about not trying to really break it...I've tried to jump 1.90m a couple of times and actually had some pretty good misses....I think i can jump it this year though...If i do, i will definatley youtube it.....

Rätselhaft, wie solch eine Leistungssteigerung möglich sein soll. Sorry, Sebastian, aber ich denke, so etwas wird wohl auch en Athlet selbst als rätselhaft empfinden.

naja bob beamon konnte es, bei mir inner b jugend ist nils herrmann auch von 7,14m auf 7,55m gesegelt und nie wieder so weit... ich hab meine bestleistung auch mal von 6,64m auf 6,96m verbessert... also es ist normal das man sich weiterentwickelt und auch mal ne granate wie der sebastian raushaut - der junge ist doch noch inner entwicklung - der ist 22! irgendwann musste doch mal der knoten platzen, er ist halt ein riesentalent - schon immer gewesen!
