The hardest way to play it is to go to a field and place the nexus in the middle of the field. The mobs is going to come from everywhere and if you come to wave 15 without cheating... Comment to this video :P

Make a moat of lava, then a pillar of sand in the middle. Place the nexus on top, jump down and destroy the pillar. It can then never be accessed.

Why bother with solid walls? WHOLE FORTRESS IS LAVA!... except the floor. A simple lava labyrinth should be nigh impregnable, provided they only use wood for building.

you should take the turrets you get from the technic pack, and make it so you can use those in this as well. So like each kill from a mob will drop a random piece of ammo for those turrets or something. :D this is really fun looking though totally gonna play this.

@2fast4noobs how about make a ditch, a pretty big one, levitate the nexus in the middle [by placing it on blocks then removing said blocks] then filling said ditch with lava so the nexus is completely engulfed, then just build a viewing platform and watch

The Ultimate Fortress:

Iron Golem and Snow Golem Sentries surrounding the 3-block Lava Pool on the ground.

A Bedrock tower going up to the maximum world height.

You with strength II potion and splash Harming potion II with full Diamond.

@dapoculos13 You could also just have Lava pooring down from the top of your Fortress. Build a two block obsidian wall at the base so it pools, but doesn't spread out and damage your sentries.

Cheap, but they will never even see the Nexus.
