THIS IS A HOT SONG, BUT SO SAD AT THE SAME TIME! ALL THESE YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN FIGHTING AND DYING FOR THIS LYING-ASS GRIMY COUNTRY! MOST THEM COME HOME NOW (IF THEY'RE LUCKY) WITHOUT A PROMISE OF WORK OR SHELTER. ONE OF THE SADDEST THINGS TO SEE HERE IN NYC IS A HOMELESS VETERAN. HOW THE HELL IS SOMEONE WHO FOUGHT FOR AMERICA HOMELESS?
@classy1973 The politicians have allowed "Chain Migration" and "Anchor Babies". These people, are displacing shelter for US Legal Citizens and Veterans.
Think of the US as our lifeboat. As it gets overloaded from people who are allowed inside because our politicians allow them in, there is only so much safe capacity and rations. It is now dangerously low in the water and the rations have run out. The US is in great danger of sinking due to "Chain Migration" and "Anchor Babies".
i was 19 for my 1st tour of Northern Ireland in 1989 ....you can never compare one conflict with another... it wasnt about being there, it was about making it home!!!
youth/innocence is always the first casualty of war. all those young men (old men now granted they're still alive) fought a foreign war the US government had no business being involved in. seems the lessons from that sordid part of history never registered with the current crop of politicians. once it was vietnam, now it's iraq and afghanistan. what follows after i don't want to think about...
what a waste of time that war was what did it get for the US, well nothing they used that war to try new weapons etc, like the M16 rifle copters and the B52 carpet bombing the north
@Frontier800 , IM GLAD I SCROLLED DOWN TO LOOK AT THE COMMENTS ,BECAUSE I WAS JUST LOOKIN AT A ABILIFY COMMERCIAL , AND I SAID TO MYSELF ,THAT SOUNDS LIKE THE GUY FROM THE 19 SONG,THAT IS WHAT MADE ME LOOK AT THIS VIDEO ,MAN ,YOU JUST SAVE ME ALOT OF RACKING MY BRAIN TRYIN TO FIGURE OUT WHO THE HELL THAT BE TALKIN ,YOU ARE RIGHT HE IS THE BEST VOICEOVER IN THE WORLD
i love this song...because of the theme and the beat...este es uno de los 12" q descubri mientras estaba en la High School y sinceramente me encanto la cancion y los remixes...siempre ha sido de mis favoritos,...ahora tengo lo nuevo de Paul Hardcastle 2011...
@Jesse94555 I was 18 in 1985 when this song was released..... I'd been up to St Georges barracks in Sutton Coldfield the year before to join the British Army(of whom I am extremely proud)...I was going to join the Grenadier Guards,I had a dodgy knee and didn't get in......I was mortified. At the time we had a war going on with the IRA....after a lot of thought I decided it wasn't a war I wanted to get involved in.Then this song completely convinced me that war is futile. I made the right choice.
theres a part that says ''your 18 yrs old and saw sombodies brains ran down their shirt cause they got shot in front of yuh'' nah nah nah nah nineteen LOL
Designed by people to kiil other people. Why? Cos they dont think like we do. How sad is that. Anyway, Mr Hardcastle produced a classic track of the 1980s! (Also did one of the Top of the Pops themes lol)
oh, and history will record that Vietnam was a beautiful war! At least back then we didnt have 24/7 media....we could exercise "open operations" with complete impunity!
Ok, as a combat vet of the first Gulf War and 3 tours in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, I can say what I am about to say....all you veterans, whining and complaining, GET OVER IT!
You did your duty, you fought your war, and thats its! Now stop all the crying and whining!
And all you fakers and perpetrators, we real vets know who you are....posing as communists trying to sway public opinion...
If any of you guys are looking for a certain particular Song/Rap/Mix that you just can't find anywhere. Most likely, I have it or more than likely, I can get it for you. If you don't know the name of a song/rap/mix that you heard, but there's a posted video featuring it, send me the video, and I'll get the song on a quality unmarked CD disk for you.
I try not to leave personal comments, but I must say that this war was unpopular for a good reason.
Also, many American Serial Killers started killing people in Vietnam. I personally met a Vet who once pointed out a Vietnamese Bike Messenger, and told me that he use to kill them everyday like JackRabbits. He said it was no big deal.
he said "ll I want to do is go home " ! Put yourself in there shoes and walk a mile, you might understand then, God bless them soldiers dead or alive !
my first LP with 12 years old in 1985!!
