we have such a small population compared to say england/germany etc. we also have so many sports competing with each other to recruit kids into their games, i think australia does punch well above its weight in regards to how it performs on the world stage and for that we should be totally commended respected and yeah, feared.
i think the future is bright, the more successful the A-league and socceroos are, the more recognition and publicity the game will get and in turn attract young players

NOw i'm a socceroos supporter dun get me wrong but its kinda unfair to the quataries who are much physically smaller than the australians, and the height of kennedy and the other australian players is undefendable, its not like technic where quatar cant defend, its jus pure size and strength which is impossible to defend if your physically smaller, how can the quataries jump as high as kenno n defend the air balls, still fantastic result for australia... YAY!!! neill had a shit game

What about when they lose to Japan, Korea, China and Iran? You can't blame the result on the physiques of the players in the team, its about the teams quality.

its was around 34,000 i think, the game was almost sold out, i belive but cause there was a HUGE thunderstorm before and it pissed down, i think alot of people thought the game woulda been called off.
So they just went home

Mate thanks for putting this up!! I am overseas in Colombia and its near on impossible to watch the aussie games here. World Cup here we come, this is sooooo much better than playing against weak sides like fiji, cook island, NZ and then going and playing a quality team like Uruaguay to get there. The Japanese drew with the ubeks. We are definately on our way!!!

ahh come on. the guy has his first game in qualifications away to the top seed of the group, you gotta feel bad for the guy. plus qatar actually went through the trouble of importing another player just so he wouldnt play. that kind of thing can play some real mind games on you as a player, it will ruin your confidence. i think after he failed to stop the penalty, he just couldnt get back into it.

ya it was sterjovski. macdonald was doing good on the far post, he wouldve had a goal, had the keeper gotten just a touch more on it (it wouldve hit the post and fell to him).
