  • i cant wait for the concert in munich 2010 love to say both

  • doyles is a funky solo...clapton is aight...watch his cocaine solo from 2004 crossraods...i dont think u can top that solo in any version ANYWHERE

    check it out

  • Love the clip, VERY GOOD

  • that's cause he plays a gibson sg and not a strat

  • derek trucks is the only musician to hold his solo well in this performance... the rest of em are weak

  • SOND IS GOOD CONGRATULEITION

  • could you translate what you said here, can not get the spelling

  • VERY GOOD OK. FRIEND

  • ...i dont really like this version cause it like takes away the hard rock vibe that clapton adds during his live "cocaine" performances...

  • Doyle was saying something to Derek during Erics solo

  • I wonder what Doyle is saying to Derek at 1:25 and 2:16. Perhaps "Which one of us is soloing after Eric?"

  • lol...

i can imagine what there saying...

"which one of us are gonna have to follow claptons awesome solo...?"

  • It's something to watch that moment right when EC finishes soloing (2:30), and no one's sure who should take the next one... live and unscripted, can't beat it!

  • There is the need for the piano solos. What's makes Eric so great is that he give's everybody a chance to solo. He's gives his bands members credit and there is a musicianship between all the band members. Eric gives the respect to let his bandmates have a chance in the spotlight. Eric isn't selfish, and if Eric wants to give everyone a solo including the piano players then so be it.

  • @ClaptonIsGod461 yes very true, he stated in an interview that he is not the band, he is just a tiny spec in the wheel is the way that he put, plus those piano players are fucking amazing, good comment well put

  • @ClaptonIsGod461 yes completely right i saw the video where hes plying crossroads with john mayer he also gave him the big chance to show what he can

  • @ClaptonIsGod461 so true!!!

  • @ClaptonIsGod461 Clapton showed us that he wasnt selfish when he wouldnt accept his reputation as a guitargod

  • @ClaptonIsGod461 HELL YEAH THATS THE TRUTH IF ITS EVER BEEN TOLD!!!!

  • @ClaptonIsGod461

He always gave his influences credit too. Snobs have accused him of ripping off Freddie King, B.B. King, J.J. Cale and Robert Johnson. He would be the first one to admit yes and then invite them on his tour to play with as well. He's a very respectable guy.

  • i agree, needs more guitar soloage not piano

  • if you's wanna hang out-you gots to take her out ,no mas vato.

  • its eric....steve....dereck and?

  • Doyle Bramhall II

  • derek*

  • @angusy8

Yep, and i must say Derk is fucking amazing in this vid

  • It's true, the women's voices don't help thte song at all.

  • Comment removed

  • lucky, so lucky

  • Great song! But I don't really like the backing vocals on this version.

  • I agree i never like them

  • eric is god-duane allman the messiah-derek-the Son. Nothin Better

  • derek trucks rocks that slide so hard :P

    CLAPTON IS GOD

  • they were incredible in columbus ..you will have a blast!

  • I am pleasantly surprised with how good Steve is on the guitar. Can't wait to see them next week

  • Not for the Stratophobics this vid is it?

  • Clapton has always been a virtuoso on guitar.Winwood is the whole package in innovation, and creativity. The most underrated

musician of his time. Look at all the groups he influenced. Great to see/hear two masters at work.

  • Derek trucks is amazing but eric is still the king

  • Eric is god dude. Derek is amazing but I dont really like his tone that much

  • who the hell is derek dude

  • derek trucks the guy with the SG haha

  • Derek was Eric Clapton's Stage name with the Dominoes so he wouldn't overshadow the other band members

  • how come Derek Trucks wasnt in the discription? he definatly deserves it...

  • MERAVIGLIOSOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Great guitar work all around. Who's the lefty? Pretty damn good also, isn't he?

  • Doyle Bramhall II.

  • well Derek is sure a hell of a guitarrist, a great one, but he can't teach them... that was exagerated lol.

pd : when a journalist asked Hendrix in '69 "people say that you're the best guitarrist right now" he answered "i don't think so, if you think i'm good, listen to Albert collins"

Hendrix LOVED that guy, and so do i.

comparing hendrix or clapton or winwood or page or beck or who the hell...

come on, stop with it, music is to be heared not a reason of fight.

  • everytime I comment on a music video some whannabe...feels the need to show his alledged superiority....Clapton...Winwood....Winwood...Clapton....who gives a fuck who became famous first or who played first or who new Hendrix....the two are great as individuals....the two together are beyond belief...you will never find a better combination...as long as you live...peace

  • What good reason?

  • why werent this on the dvd

  • I still like my idea better. Cream didn't come anywhere NEAR my city on the Reunion. In fact, they've NEVER been in Arkansas!!!!!!!!!!

  • yea im sure both of us will regret missing that one =(

  • for good reason

  • well lets hope he does another crossroads festival some day

  • I wanted to be like EVH who wanted to be like EC who wanted to be like Hendrix who wanted to like dope and shit, he's gone! Be what you are, man! Stay outta dope and hope. Nope?

  • @ lymph4man clapton came before hendrix, jackass. and hendrix was a clapton fan before clapton even heard of hendrix.

  • ah :) I have tickets to see them in June :D

  • me too

    its gonna be awesome

  • so do I :)

  • Same here, and im going to see derek trucks band. both shows should be epic

  • It's funny watching him sing this now that he's been clean and sober forever. He has to hate singing this. Chances are he was in an altogether different place in his life when this song was the shit

  • This is actually an Anti-Drug song

  • ERIC NEEDS TO REPLACE HIS BAND! And, I've got the perfect replacements:

    Jack Bruce - Bass

    Ginger Baker - Drums

    But, maybe that's just me.

  • Eric and Ginger on the same stage again eh, thanx to heroine the trust had gone and I can't see it happening. Shame though.

  • it happened in 05 though

  • phil lesh - bass

    jim gordon - drum

    (One hell of a dream)

  • I respect Clapton but there are many far better guitar players. I have never understood the mistique of Clapton. He is a tasteful, competent guitar player but he will never totally blow your mind like an Eddie Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughn or Joe Bonamassa.

  • without eric clapton, no stevie, no bonamassa and even no van halen would exist.

  • stratolespaul80 is right. without Clapton you wouldnt have EVH, who has always admitted to wanting to be like Clapton. in a guitar mag interview he once said he would spend the whole day trying to play like clapton, and i respect j.bonamassa as a tasteful, competent guitarist who has also stated Clapton as one of his influences, but lets be real here, he isnt "blowing anybodys mind". as for SRV. only his idol, Hendrix, could somewhat touch him. let's be fair now. Clapton is God.

  • I was there, and Stevie Stole the Show,he's the Man...

  • clapton prob could own him but he is way more subtle than he really is he is a freaking good guitarist. clapton rules.

  • i bet that clapton showed stevie a few things on the guitar man remember clapton was playing guitar before stevie was they played in the same band in 69 im sure that clapton showed him some stuff thats why they have a similiar style. But thats all a guess haha

  • Stevie was playing guitar before he met Eric. I've seen a video of him playing in spencer Davis group beack in the early. They probably showed each other stuff. haha.

  • whoa really? Thats sick I always thought that he was just a piano player. Dude he rips though.

  • Clapton's so chill on stage, if I was there I'd be the one going crazy on stage and jumping all around Trucks. Lol.

Honestly, the background girls in the background really aren't needed in Cocaine. They're fantastic singers, dont get me wrong, they're wicked good. But Its a song thats suposed to belong to the guitars. They added a huge part to Crossroads, thats when they're needed. Call me out if I'm wrong, but its my own opinion.

    Keep rockin'

  • i tootaallyyy agreeee

  • dude steelydad

im also a HUGE CLAPTON FAN

    JUST LOOK AT MY NAME

and yes i do agree with you this is an uninspired version

but i still love the song

  • I am a h uge EC FAn, love SW when he plays his traffic era stuff.....but this is just an uninspired version of Cocaine. Check out clapton on 2 for the road.

  • Two of the best musicians of the rock genre. Can't get much better.

Trucks is a good guitarist in his own right, but he was in way over matched by EC on this one. Nobody can play Cocaine like God himself

  • I love how they take turns. Winwood and Clapton take todays musicians to school. These guysstill know how to do it.

  • everyone is always a critic! its all good. they cant suck that bad or clapton wouldnt be on the stage with them would he? Moron! Critize when you yourself have done something better asshole!

  • trucks kills it

  • why wasn't this song on dvd release

  • tht mans laying stuff similair to the old days, dunno if u know wat a mean lol bt he does n it wiz gd thn and its still gd now

  • erm do you know what vowels are?
