There is the need for the piano solos. What's makes Eric so great is that he give's everybody a chance to solo. He's gives his bands members credit and there is a musicianship between all the band members. Eric gives the respect to let his bandmates have a chance in the spotlight. Eric isn't selfish, and if Eric wants to give everyone a solo including the piano players then so be it.

I respect Clapton but there are many far better guitar players. I have never understood the mistique of Clapton. He is a tasteful, competent guitar player but he will never totally blow your mind like an Eddie Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughn or Joe Bonamassa.

Honestly, the background girls in the background really aren't needed in Cocaine. They're fantastic singers, dont get me wrong, they're wicked good. But Its a song thats suposed to belong to the guitars. They added a huge part to Crossroads, thats when they're needed. Call me out if I'm wrong, but its my own opinion.
