@truvelocity I believe you are underestimating high school choirs. My high school choir was/is BEYOND amazing. And that is from ghetto West Phoenix where we have no money and most of what we have is donated/fundraised for, we went to many competitions where we saw many other amazing choirs. I just don't think this was amazing. Maybe they don't see their potential or don't have a well educated instructor/director/teacher or something, but in any case I think they could've done way better..

Glee really isn't accurate about show choirs either, they are PAID actors on a tv show! Not to mention most of them are in their late twenties or early thirties. Educate yourselves! I think a different song would have been better. Maybe cut down on all the Glee...it seems like there's a lot of songs pulled from that show. Maybe something a little more choral would have been better? Like Seasons of Love or, for something more upbeat, You Can't Stop the Beat.

Show choir is well appreciated when it is seen LIVE and during competition. They both remind me of each other. Everyone on Glee keeps saying how the Old Glee Club in the 80's was the best. As do people at this showchoir's High School. And yes they dont sound perfect, when the kids on Glee perform anything on the show it is precorded so it looks like you can sing perfect without a gasp for air while dancing. These kids were amazing. If you can do better than by all means prove it.

I expected so much better when I first saw there was going to be a choir on AGT. The presentation was good, and the group seems spirited, but this group needs to:

A) Learn the "One Voice" concept

B) Learn about the importance of diction and vowels

C) Learn to use their diaphragms

Having said that, this was better than the 'live' version that I watched on TV, so maybe they just need more practice and less nervousness or something..

@tinxdarkangel actually no, as someone who just graduated from the school powerhouse sprouts from our choir is behind glee, which is why its partly shot at our school and the choir room in the show is a duplicate of ours. Also that is how they got on Oprah for a Glee special, and also sent them to Hong Kong. They are fabulous performers and NO ONE should criticize them if you have never been in their shoes, my friends work their asses off for every performance.

Don't compare them to glee. Glee is full of solos with background and that's about it. You also got to remember that the Glee cast isn't singing and dancing at the same time on the show. They have the convenience of recording themselves and lip syncing while dancing. Dancing and singing is a lot harder than you think.

Does no one realize that their "oh so special" glee is based upon show choirs like this one everywhere. These choirs don't have to live up to glee because the show is the fake, the imitation.
