  • You should definitely add music. looks cool!

  • Needs More Cowbell

  • Attach a Barbie head to the top of that thing and you have that monster toy from Toy Story ;_;

  • PLEEASE geta job at like a big ass car company so you can make some sick freaking walkers for everyone to go all terrain on :D

  • The high pitch is because the servo motors are digital? Are all digital servos like that?

  • i need to build spider robot for school project.

i searched in youtube and i see that all of this robots having 6 legs. do you have any special reason?

and ill be happy if you can give some suggestion.

    tnx :)

  • @usernameraz I think it's mainly a question of the budget. A six legged walker is pretty stable and are cheaper than an 8 legged robot. (2 more legs = 6 more servos = can be more than 100$ extra)

But it's still to expensive for me^^

  • okey but you know hexapods are robots that are bugs not arachnids i think

  • spiders have 8 legs

  • @jerichopasaoa hence the 'hexapod'

  • I just have a very important question that might make me decide whether I wanna use an axon for 4 legged robot. can you make your hexapod move faster than that??? Or is that the maximum speed you can achieve with the axon???

Thanks...and nice job on having the entire project ready in just three weeks. You give me hope as I am planning on building my own 4 legged robot haha

  • @potobill Yes, it can go faster, but probably shouldn't. The limiting factor on the movement of the hexapod isn't the Axon, but the stress on the servo joints and the innate speed of the servos. Most servos move 60 degrees in 0.2 seconds, which is very fast, but they will run-down batteries and wear out the gears quickly at that speed.

  • how did you controll this servo i know microcontroller but what program you are using

  • @ibm322 The program is my own creation and is free open source on Sourceforge. Check my "axon Control software" video for details to get a link.

  • wicked creation!! cool and creepy!

  • What is the drive system? Individual motors with gears?

  • Omg...this thing is seriously giving me the creeps! It reminds me of a damn spider ...guh!

    Well, I guess its cool...

  • Is that calculating IK in real-time, or precalculated and stored in look-up tables?

  • this is creepy

  • Commercial app for you. I just did tonight a haunted house for the neighborhood. Do one each Halloween. Redwood City, Silicon Valley. If one of those things came a few feet through the haunted cemetery scene toward the trick or treaters they'd go nuts. Buffs like me pay 100-130 easy for a device like that. Wouldn't have to move faster, support any weight, or work more than one night a year. Give optional scary top like spider and kid friendly pumpkin top. Spirit, Target wd buy. Good luck!

  • Cool robot, but hexapod dances are all the same.

  • thats really cool but really, how many times does it have to repeat the same moves?

  • You did a great job on the robotics, it's pretty impressive.

  • money does not buy class. but big tits do

  • Can it support weight for candy?

  • Awesome! :D

  • What an awful sound it makes!!!!!!!

  • gogogogo

  • stick a water pistol on, that sprays your guests while they are mesmorised by the dance and not expecting it!

  • its missing a monitor to watch television on

  • wow thats amazing!

  • does it eat cats?

  • it eats humans

  • IT NEEDS MUSIC!!!

  • it should play music from nightmare before christmas

  • Hahah That's wicked! It's really hard not to smile while watching this!

Also it reminds me of that weird doll head spider robot thing from Toy Story. hehehe
