  • Due attori splendidi

  • Cary Grant showed us that being a sexy silver fox is not only plausible but something to aspire to as the years approach . And who better to display his unique charms with than a young and vivacious Audrey Hepburn in the prime of her acting career. A class act of supporting villains and an unpredictable plot makes this movie PERFECT!

  • Hepburn is really beautiful in this movie, but the movie is a little boring much because of Cary Grant, I like him but he don´t fit in the movie I don´t know why. The music is a masterpiece.

  • Hehe....v=RmzfX1FSt3k

  • @RichardElden I don't know, and I don't care. What I know is: no matter how many cigarettes she smoked, she was a wonderful woman. That's what matters.

  • @RichardElden Audrey Hepburn is the most beautiful woman my eyes have ever seen, and if you know how to use Google Images, you might find out she was still gorgeous in her last years.

  • @nauort23 @RichardElden For cinemas's sake, don't you dare say Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn weren't great actors, or that Hitchcock was overrated. They are 3 of my favorite people from the movies, and if you don't love them as much as I do, at least respect them.

@nauort23 Audrey's name must never be used on a phrase that includes some dirty word.

@RichardElden Hitchcock's films had plenty of subtle humor, and some of them had wonderful scores (Vertigo and Psycho and Rebecca, for example).

  • @RichardElden Neither of them was a great actor--that's why they work so well in light stuff like this movie. That said, I don't think you could ever in a million years knock either of them for their looks. In any movie. As for Hitchcock, you can add him to your list of what's over-rated. He didn't invent the suspense film, btw. And this movie has two things Alfred Hitchcock lacked in spades: humor and an excellent musical score.

  • @nauort23 you didn't think North By Northwest was funny?

  • Indeed on there is so much class as in " Breakfast in Tiffany's ".

A " small song " with a big touch of nostalgia but that has no magic of "Moon River" " even if it is the same essence, charms or poetry. It's beautiful but there is the other...

  • I just love that music!

  • Happy 82nd Birthday, Audrey! I'll make a donation to UNICEF in your honor. Thank you for all that you've done!

  • I don't remember the year this came out, but I do remember it was the first movie my mother and I went to see together. I usually went to Sunday matinees by myself or with friends. It is a very fond memory for me of my now deceased mother. Thanks

  • Leave it to Henry Mancini to create something as memorable and lingering as this Charade Theme. Once you've heard it, it's impossible to get out of your head.

  • I love this song and Audrey was a pricess!

  • im playing this on viola

  • Thank you Andy, yes it was "Wait Until Dark". One of my favorite movies that Audrey had made. Then again i liked all of her movies too.

  • Lovely song and an excellent movie. The 'Charade' album is a rerecording and omits much of the best music from the film. Isn't it time for a CD of the the original music as heard in the film?

  • all time favorite movie

love this song it's just awsome i've got it on my ipod.

my classmates listened to it for the first time last week and they were like "omg it's amazing" because they only know eminem and lady gaga you know i'm in 8th grade and I live in germany and my friends don't know any great movies or songs from then. makes me a bit sad..

  • there is a cover of this song from a band called fantomas which by the way its VERY interesting

  • Suspenseful movie, hypnotic theme. Too bad today's flicks don't come anywhere close to a movie like this.

  • The song has been going thru my head much of this day.Very nice work by Henry Mancini

  • thank you spiderorchid that was the name. I thought that was a very good movie. Then again i liked every movie she was in.

  • GIVE IT TO ME ... ITS MINE!

  • This has been one of my favorites movies of Audry's. But can any remember the name of the movie where she played a blind woman (Suzie) in. She was terrific in that movie . That movie had you on the edge of your seat.

  • @EebB924 I think it's called "Wait until dark"

  • VERY GOOD TIMES!!! MEGPESSOA 19/7/2010

  • I so love this movie... And I miss it so much... I just love Audrey Hepburn, and all her movies... For me, Audrey Hepburn is the classic woman of all classic women... If I were to be a woman, I would like to be just like her... I particularly love this movie because of its juxta position of danger and suspense with love and devotion... Oh, how I miss — and love — all these things of the past! ♥ ♥ ♥

  • GRACIAS por el recuerdo maravilloso de este estupendo Video! Cordiales saludos!

  • Absolutely beautiful. The perfect woman.

  • @bigttim1 I agree. She is the most perfect woman of all time. :)

  • my mum used to sing the melody from the charade with her words as a lullaby for me (:. and I just realized it's from the movie.

  • Cary Grant y Audrey Hepburn juntos en una película. Como escenario París y la música de Henry Mancini. Qué más puedes pedirle a la vida?

  • Whose recording is this?

  • Really takes you back to 1963 and those glorious days when life was a lot more innocent and not so tense. Great song, good film. But the movie didn't get the recognition and praise it deserved.

  • I think that's because it was boring and fagboy Grant was way too old.

  • I disagree. it was a very suspenseful film

and it did well at the box office. Lots of good movies don't get the honor they deserve. Keep in mind that in 1963 movies with social messages were in vogue. Had "Charade" been released in the 1950s it would likely have received numerous nominations and won many more awards.

  • Ten years earlier it might have worked, but at 60 Grant just looked old and puffy.

  • Believe it our not this my favorite Film I have 6 copies didn't want to lose the movie

  • Peterfirthfan, You're a dumb cluck.

  • Das Lied wurde auch in einem Columbo-Film (mit Jack Cassidy) von einem Interpreten gesungen. Sehr schön.

  • Nice song, nice movie.

  • It came,wonderful!!

  • audrey hepburn is human like any other so is flawed...but flawless relative to us other humans...:)

  • goback3..., I've always liked "something" about Audrey Hepburn (maybe it's just the way she smiles or wears early 60's Givenchy, because she wasn't a particularly good actress), but I've read a few of your comments on YT, so I know you're not a fan. I have to ask, what flaws? Too cute? Too skinny? Untalented? Overexposed? Overrated? Just curious. It's nice to hear a different opinion now and then.

  • For a long time I'd found Ms. Hepburn to be offputting for reasons that I couldn't quite put into words. Then I read the late Pauline Kael's review of WAIT UNTIL DARK, and she nailed it for me perfectly: Audrey Hepburn has a certain coy manner of acting which seems to be winking at the audience, as if to say, "I'm not 'really' like this." Perhaps it's a subtle awareness of a certain self-consciousness. I must say, however, that I've never seen A NUN'S STORY, which is lauded by many.

  • Just saw "Nun's Story" on TCM recently. From what I can gather by your comments, don't think you'd care for it. As much as I enjoy her in stylish fluff like Charade (with Cary Grant, a fellow "winker", if you ask me) or Breakfast at Tiffany's, I think she falls flat in serious roles.

  • Think I'd prefer the flying nun.

  • Audrey Hepburn is flawless

  • Henry Mancini was one of the best.

  • i really like this song...im playin it on piano

  • Was this song from the boat scene?

  • romantic spy film set in wonderful Paris...now how can you beat that?

  • luv luv luv this film..a good mixture of suspense, romance and comedy amidst the enchanting background of Paris!

  • Fantomas did a great cover of this.

  • man i love this version. thank you for playin this.i was in the 1st grade when this movie came out.

  • Come on! I felt this movie captured an era of France long gone. Clever storyline - , funny, and all the time , keeping the suspense - and who would have guessed the ending?? I think this movie beats most of the rubbish being churned out of Hollywood nowadays - which generally rely too heavily on special effects. Yes Grant was looking old - but he has sufficient charm to make the romance thing believable. Maybe I'm just getting old! :-)

  • Grant received so much critical flak for romanmcing Audrey onscreen at the age of 60 that he vowed never to play such a part again. In 1965 he had to retire from acting because he could no longer play the characters his fans wanted him to play.

  • @wtc175 i picked the ending about half way through, the person who did it, not who he really was or why, but i did get who. Pretty proud of that!

  • @11RodeoClown11 Cool..... - but did you guess that Cary Grant would turn up in the Embassy as the head boy??? or that the value lay in the stamp??? :-)

  • @wtc175 This was one of my favorite Cary Grant movies, actually. They remade it, you know? Not nearly as good, but interesting to watch, nonetheless.

  • The beautiful Charade , one of the most beautiful songs of the amecican cinema in the 60s .....old songs which never lose their value and like the old wines , they get more and more beautiful with the years ....

  • I play it on saxophon

  • This music was copied in a 1965 indian movie - Gumnaam. The name of the song "Gumnaam hai koi"

  • Yeah, I noticed the rather striking resemblance - the heavenly ethereal voice you can hear in the background when they're in the forest.

  • Beautiful song!! I remember Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant in this movie...Wonderful!

  • Your videos have such crisp, stereo clarity- they're wonderful! Thank you from a HUGE Henry Mancini fan!!

  • Another Thank You!!!

  • Love this song.
