I could never beat this level as a kid. I managed to download the file but was always caught during my getaway. I had no idea you could just jump over that ledge.

Thank god the mission is different on the PC version. Also, Having played both, I like the pc version a lot better. More tactics involved than just "start here."  You actually can divide 8 soldiers between up to 4 squads any way you choose, then make waypoints and set up actions to go codes, allowing mass coordinated attacks. Original rainbow six puts the vegas games to shame.

I have managed to download the files but always got caught trying to escape.Never realised I could just jump down like that.Is it possible to sneak down the stairs with the files past the guards?

awfull game, i had it, the enemy AI sucked, they could all see through walls and had dead eye aim from 1000 feet

The shoooting in this game is pretty controlled. It's good as well since the enemies die in one or two hits. Way better than modern whole clip-wasting enemies!

i dont have much advice about this mission since its been almost 10 years since i played this game,but i do know you should just use one team member and leave the other 2 in the stairwell since they tend to get in the way,sorry that i cant be of more assistance
