Basic weapons which I think all knights should have and still would have and use if they were still around for real: Knife/dagger of some sort if you lose your primary weapon such as a sword for example(used as a 2nd or 3d weapon choise), close combat weapon of any kind wether two-handed, one-handed with shield, dual wielded one-handed weapons, or one-handed with no shield and no 2ndary weapon. Used as primary weapon. Bow with arrows or Crossbow with bolts as 2ndary weapon.Some throwing knife 2

Then she should be wearing full plate, and your kendo will do sweet bugger all. Yellow fever is ridiculous, especially when comparing sword techniques made for completely different styles of combat. The Katana was only created, because there wasn't enough metal in Japan to make heavy armour. As such the Japanese sword style is better against someone who isn't in heavy armour with sword and shield.

yes you seem to be well informed however the fact that i do jujitsu alows mme to move swiftly and recognise the oponets weak spot also if she was wearing full plate armor it would be alot harder for her to move fast hence me being able to out speed her and eliminate her by finding an opening in her armour

Wow great fight, have you thought about mixing styles like Samurai vs Broadsword.

Well, the mainreason why I didný mix style with a samurai, is because I don't have a katana. I only have medieval weaponry. But I do have a brother who is learning eastern swordfighting, so maybe one day, we can do a Medieval knight vs Samurai match :) Would be great. My neighbours feel very safe, speaking about social security :P :)

And if you pick his sword up don't throw it off! Either use it or give it back if you're one of those polite fighters. Don't hold both ends of the sword just to block, that take to long and if the hit to hard it cuts your hands!

This is a fight put together, but even in real fights I have been blocking with two hands on the sword, to grab my opponent. Works for me, especially with the opponents that like to fight from a distance. But if your a distance fighter, you are right, then it's not smart to take the sword on both ends.

Well let me reply to them one by one. If you think this suck's ass that's your opinion and I respect that. If i attack the chick during the spin i'll find a sword halfway through my head. Those fighting styles are german, and they, so far, did the job. Maybe I seem to give myself open with every move, just tricks to distract, or to give me a better chance to counterattack.

It's only scary when it goes wrong, and with my bad memory, our swordfighting takes often different turns than we practised. But hey, we keep on fighting till the end... :)

But Jennifer and I are planning on filming a few fights with all kind of weird weapons, and wrestling. But we have 2 wait for good weather, because now it's only raining here in Holland...

That's right. This is no real fight. We've set it up to show various sword-fighting techniques, and in order to make them look right we had to choreograph the fight. Hopefully in the future, we''ve mastered the techniques enough to use them in real combat :)
