He should have thought about that before he committed crimes against humanity and executed (many times BY HANGING) hundreds of thousands of innocent people. Before he committed genocide. I understand your point of view, Saddam was responsible for many killings, the feeling some of the Arab people are getting isnt about feeling sorry for him, it is more of an emotional moment, Saddam was a symbol of power, seeing him with a rope arround his neck just mixes peoples emotions. Saddam's trial had nothing to do with oil. It was about him being a thug and murderous pirate who threatened his neighbors and the security of the United States of America. No one is disputing that we gave him weapons, however, you are forgetting that when he started using them on innocent people we stopped supporting him against the Communists. Unfortunately, US failed to bring him down, because 80% of IRAQI weapons are MADE IN US. 10 years after the first war, US current president had sweared to accomplish his father objective, again, planned another WAR by declaring that IRAQ IS HAVING DANGEROUS WEAPONs... ... The United States, the suppplier of weapons for Iraq in 80s, when Saddam is still LISTENING to US. US does not care what HE DID because US got what they want, which is selling the weapons and get the money. As expected, in late 80, the first Iraq war had begun because US had planned the WAR in order to pull down Saddam because he is not working for US anymore.

UN resolutions do not authorize USA to overtrow Saddams regime. but in mi opinion as a young veteran of iraqui freedoom.
