@rileyman360 It was because of the time in that era when they game took place, America was fascinated with technologies of that sort and they thought it would pay some respect to the idea of those older looking pretend pistols like the one in "The Iron Giant." If not look up old 50-60 toy ray guns, they look similar. The wunderwaffe is actually based of real German engineering that was idolized during the time period and was experimented on realistically. I don't recall many working lol.

the ray gun is not insta kill. its powerfull enough to kill in one hit on the lower levels but on the higher levels you need 2-4 shots cuz the zombies are stronger.
