  • @freddym223

THANKS FRED. I'M HAVING A BLAST LEARNING A NEW STYLE. IF IT'S NOT FUN, WHY BOTHER? I CAN ALWAYS GO BACK TO TURNING HARMONY INSIDE OUT :-)

    ALLEN

  • Sweet and delicate arrangement, Allen. A great song you've chosen! I

love the tone of that Taylor. I'm considering getting one myself.

  • @MisterVirtual

Thanks MV. I've had that Taylor for many years. We have become accustomed to each other :-)

    Thanks again,

    allen

  • Hi allen,

very nice acoustic renditiond!.. and great guitar sound!... Bravo!...

    Soon..

  • @lucabez

Grazie mille Luca. Ho posseduto quella chitarra per 27 anni. Il legno e invecchiato bene. Grazie per le tue parole incoraggianti.

    Cheers,

    allen

  • Hi Allen, Beautiful high quality arrangement. When I was a kid I had this album on a 8-track tape, Still have it somewhere in a box. Great performance!

    Steve

  • @Stevepat1

Thanks Steve. 8-track. That goes back a few decades. I had the album on vinyl. Sadly I don't know where it is.

Justin has written some good songs over the years. Of all, this is my favorite.

    Cheers,

    allen

  • WOW!!! You get a big sound out that beautiful guitar...so crispy. Beautiful performance, just like any other pro. Always a pleasure to listen to you Allen.

    My regards to you.

    Edwin

  • @jazzyedwin24

    Hey Edwin,

Thanks for tuning in and listening. It's a bit long but there is so much going on it's hard to decide which parts should be excluded. It also presented itself as a challenge to my finger-style chops which are still in their formative years :-)

It was fun and that's what counts for me.

    Mucho saludos,

    allen

  • Very nice Allen

    Thumbs UP4U mon ami.

    Claude

  • @6K6R

    Claude,

Merci mon ami. Vos mots m'encouragent a continuer d'essayer.

    allen

  • very beautiful Allen : )

  • @SIRONEDRAGON

Thanks Ken! This was lots of fun to learn.

    allen

  • Sometimes one word is enough. AMAZING! ....love you bunches

  • @Harky1951

Thanks Pam. A bit out of my genre but lots of fun to play. What tune are you working on these days? It's been awhile since you have posted.

    Cheers,

    allen

  • @carvetop01 It HAS been too long Allen. Time has flown by in this season of change for me and it seems my sound system is in my vehicle whenever I feel the mood. I am working on Sade's 'The Kiss of Life'. That might be the one that will make me get it together again. hee hee......I also like singing 'The Look of Love'....so we'll see. Have a great week. We all love your postings so much.........Pamela

  • Tu sei un grande, ed è sempre un piacere guardarti suonare, ascoltare il suono che esche dal tocco delle tue dita, ed ammirare la tua splendida chitarra....un abbraccio dal tuo amico Italiano :-)

You are great, and it is always a pleasure to watch play, hear the sound of your fingers touch the bait, and admire your beautiful guitar .... a hug from your Italian friend :-)

  • @bernablues

La ringrazio molto il mio amico.

    allen

  • Great tune and very well done. Very nice arrangement and playing. Jim

  • @MrJimdeb

    Thank you Jim.

    allen

  • Hi Allen, this is worth to be called an opus, a huge masterpiece of your fingerstyle playing. I like the tune anyway, your rendition is beautiful. Just a kind friend´s comment? No, it IS good;-)

    Frank

  • @FrankRMusic

Thank you Frank. Your words encourage me to keep trying. This is my first attempt at using finger picks. I think I like them for some songs. It seems easier to balance the melody against the harmony.

Thanks again for listeneing for 6 minutes and 46 seconds. I know it's a bit long.

    Cheers,

    allen

  • Hi Allen. Amazing is the word. Your delicate and beautiful music brings me heart-warming feeling. Perfect! Have a good weekend!

  • @mkauchi

Thank you for listening and for your generous compliment.

    Cheers,

    allen

  • Wonderful !!! This is worth the work that you put in...to me it is 6:46 minutes of pleasure as you weave the melody expertly throughout the peice. Thank you I love it.

  • @naincee1

Thank you. Now I gotta figure out what's next!

  • What is it they say about masters? They make the difficult look easy. Such is the case here. Way good man.

  • @archtopbrownie

Thanks Lance. I think I might do a wee Celtic tune next. Try out some alternate tunings. Uli (Mpoiuz) has introduced me to several that are intriguing. Wanna SKYPE Monday afternoon?

    Thanks for listening Lance,

    allen

  • @carvetop01 I'll be on skype on Monday. Found a good guitarist I'm working with now. Lives only 4 blocks away. Working up some nice material. He learns from me an I from him. Has juiced up my enthusiasm. Probably connect up on Monday unless life interferes with art.l

  • @carvetop01 Allen, I´m writing something new in a very nice tuning I figured out for me: E B C# F# B D#

    Give it try!

  • @FrankRMusic

You and Uli your are going to make me crazy :-) How do you come up with these ideas? I'm just starting to understand DADGAD!

    allen

  • Wow, Allen! This is absolutely beautiful! I love your arrangement - the harmonics are exquisite! The sound of that guitar is gorgeous! Love this! <3 Babs

  • @babs4TLove

Thanks Babs. I thought I would try out the Alaska Piks you use. They let me keep the eq flat and the melody out front. I might use them again.

Thanks for listening and your kind words.

    allen

  • @carvetop01 Hi Allen! I just came back for another listen! I didn't notice you were using the "piks"! Well, you certainly played well with them, and I think they do help enhance the wonderful sound a bit - but of course your terrific playing was the best part! <3 Babs

  • @babs4TLove ,

Ha. I bet you say that to all us southern boys :-) I actually found them quite easy to use. I cut my finger nails too close and I could not get a timbre I liked with just my fingers. So................ I gave the piks a try. I LIKE EM!

I played jazz for so many years with just a flat-pick. Finger-style is a nice change for me. And a bit of a challenge.

    Thanks again for your encouragement,

    allen

  • Bravo! Great job too! ha! Very nice arrangement...well executed - meaning you nailed it!!! Thanks for setting us a new standard, Hinton!!

  • @gdshepp

Thanks Gerald. I gotta admit, I cutaway would have made things a bit easier around 2:25 into the song. I think I will avoid the dusty end of the neck on my next tune :-)

Thanks for listening and your encouraging words.

  • Hi Allen,

i like that tune a lot. It was written in the year i was born. A challenging arrangement with the harmonics intro, a very interesting harp-run and some trips to the high registers. You hit the mood of the tune very well and keep tension over nearly 7 minutes.

    Great performance! Thanks for sharing!

    ...and my best wishes...

    Uli

  • @Mpoiuz

    Thanks Uli.

6 Minuten und 46 Sekunden in der Hölle. You were born in 1967? You are a very sophisticated player for being so young. It's a long song. I had a part near the end when I did my first recording that was a tremolo triplets played over the Em9. I rerecorded without the tremolo as it made the song much longer. At my age (born 1950) Meine Liebe zum Detail endet nach 6 Minuten und 46 Sekunden. :-)

Thank you my friend for listening and you encouraging comments.

    Cheers,

    allen

  • Hi Allen, thats a nice arrangement ,very good playing buddy ,and as you always say very colorfull ,my compliments ,groejes uit Holland ,Kees Nipius.
