This is my own personal opinion but I feel that songs that are overly technical lose all sense of emotion and that bores me. Don't get me wrong, one of my favorite bands is Opeth but bands like Necrophagist and Cannibal Corpse I personally find boring. Music without any emotion to doesn't really leave a mark on me. Musicians who can show emotion and parts of themselves in their music I personally feel are the better of the two even if they can't tear up on their instruments.
