  • today is the 19th year anniversary of his death, wow"!! Hard to believe he has been gone almost 20 years.

  • Believe it or not the WCCW, WCW and WWF gave me a lot of insiration growing up and gave me the belief that I could accomplish anyting.....ended up a Super Bowl Champ and now an Engineer and father of 4. Wrestlers like Kerry Von Erich got me through some rough teenage years.....RIP and Thanks!!!

  • Kerry was the first of my late 80s/90s Heroes, who died. Soon followed by Andre and then Davey Boy, Curt Hennig, Hercules, Hawk, Earthquake, Owen Hart, Dino Bravo, Boss Man and so many others - and now Randy Savage. It´s hard to watch something like Wrestle Mania 7 and you realize that the most of the Superstars are dead and gone...just a few years later :-(

  • @Freddy1979 I can relate to that 100 percent. I was 18 when it happened, and it seems like it just keeps happening since.

  • my girls mom dated this guy back in the 70s... he was such a beast man .. rip

  • He was facing 10 yrs and yes, his mother Doris is alive and lives in Hawaii I believe.

  • if kerry decided to go to jail instead..how much time would he have been looking at?..considering it just being the 1990's..Reason i ask this is back then alot of drug charges were paid by 30 days in jail then 2 yrs probation..

  • Is the Mother of all the boys still living?

  • What a wrestling family dynasty! Miss him and all the Von Erich's

  • very sad i feel sorry for the mother

  • The song should have been Tom Sawyer by Rush. But, thanks for posting.

    Kerry Von Erich was cool.

  • RIP Kerry

  • 18 years today! Such a sad day in history for all of us Kerry fans. I was lucky enuff to meet him and I choose to remember the person I met that day. Who showed me he was a great wrestler but also a wonderful human being. He spent time to talk and sign autographs. Then he went and spent time with some special needs people who were there. After the match, he went to speak to a local boys club. He was truly someone special. I choose to remember Kerry as a man, not a superstar. RIP Kerry!

  • horse face

  • I miss them but very happy that they finally got inducted into WWE Hall of Fame..

  • whats he up to these days? I know his daughter is in TNA

  • @BukkakeCapiton R U a knuckle head or what he's dead

  • I used to have a crush on him...I didn't know he and his brothers were in pain. RIP

  • I was working sound at a "Dallas Beach Party" where they haul in sand and have a concert and I remember a person catching my attention back stage and there was no doubt in my mind when I looked straight at him , I knew instantly it was Kerry~~~I eventually made my way fairly close to him and the energy he had around him was one of a kind. R I P Kerry Von Erich

  • god bless Von Erichs

  • All family should be still together, satisfied and happy - I cant understand their reasons to optionally commit suicide

  • This is an excellent tribute vid. Thank you for posting this minus the negative aspects surrounding his death.

He was a great wrestler and seemed like a good guy who just couldn't overcome the demons in his life. May he rest in peace.

  • The Adkinson's (von erich) will always be missed, I remember watching them at the sportatorium in dallas when I was just a youngster.

  • his daughter is in tna

  • @t33275 whats her name? is she wrestling?

  • @sonjaxfactor Lacy is her name

  • YOU ARE THE MAN WHERE EVER YOU GO

  • RIP Texas Tornado

  • Truly a world champion that didnt get the chance to carry the title for a ong period of time

  • only memory of Kerry still lingers here.....

  • we miss you guys

  • Comment removed

  • well we used to watch kerry and all the vonericks every saturday night in lebanon in the middle of the lebanese civil war ,got to say great moments and memories still remain within me thanks to the vonericks family ,god bless them all !!!!!!!!!!!

  • kerry was such a nice guy got to meet him once and he was so nice rip my friend

  • @iceman2765 wish i can meet kevin someday, am sure that they had big hearts all of them ...............

  • I read Playboy Gary Hart's book. They used to call him Uncle Gary. They had their demons. Namely their dad. He ignored their problems and rebelled against him. According to Hart. He controlled their finances and never paid them alot of money. Everything I've heard and read seems to paint the problems were as a result of their Dad. Too bad. Steroids, drugs and alcohol.

  • Personally want alive long enough to appreciate his work. Yes he had his problems but he was a talented SOB. Only recently have i seen some of his WCCW matches to truly appreciate his work.

  • nice tribute....great work buddy

  • I would like to see Kerrys last photograph before his suicide

  • I'm glad that his baby girl is keeping the family tradition going. Kerry would be proud.

  • @Realdeal232005 YES Indeed! and Lacey Von Erich is Gorgeous! I love her group the BEautiful People in TNA!

  • The Von Erichs would have changed the face of pro wrestling if it had not been for their battles with drugs. It's amazing Kevin is still with us!

  • All of them should be still with us...Jackie, David, Mike, Chris

  • 50 years ago was Jackie's death

  • yes i know...thanks buddy :-)

  • So beautifuly done!! I'm sure Kerry would love it, he truly had no idea how much he meant to so many people! The Von Erich's are and ALWAYS WILL BE, "THE FIRST FAMILY OF WRESTLING!! GOB BLESS THEM ALL!!

  • The Von Erichs should have dignified gravesites than this small stones

  • His wife reputedly left him....and kerry shot himself to the chest

  • that ain't why he shot himself. It is because he was facing jail time on drugs charges and didn't want to bring more shame on his family name.

  • oh so............but lost life is not possible to bring back. Will be remebered

  • I always loved it to see him and will always remember him!

  • I had this awesome Kerry poster, where he was in the white trunks with black boots, white fringes on the boots and white knee pads, looking supertan with the white head band and that amazing smile. Had such a HUGE crush on him and a little one on Kevin too. It's sooo sad about the family.

  • One of the greatest wrestlers that ever lived. His ex-wife should be ashamed of herself for abandoning him when he needed her most.

  • Agreed but he cheated on her, watch the chris adams shoot interview. He says that Kerry was having an affair with his wife. So cant really blame her.

  • 4 real?

  • how old lacey is ?

  • she is 26. She has Kerry in her 100% her moms look 100%

  • Lacey is 23. She was born in 1986

  • I told janborrowitz in an email that she was 23. SEE I"M HUMAN TO

  • ok thks...here we gop

  • Where were they getting their steroids? I guess Fritz had a prescription or something?

  • Back in the early 80s and late 70s you could get them they werent illegal.

  • kerry von erich- the bee gee on steroids

  • long live kevin - this all is really sad

  • he shouldnt have died the way he died

  • agreed

  • I Love all of them, but Kerry was my favorite! No one but Kerry will ever know the demons he had to fight, no one has a right to judge anyone else!

  • kerry was my favorite 2

  • Amen to that brother! I liked Chris the best

  • i still remember that lion !

  • so sad.....

  • The shame is he could have just done his time and got back and been with his family and still had a kick a** career.

  • Not really- he was a drug addict, he had been given chances to be clean several times for drug offences, this time he was facing serious jail time & probably would not have been out until he was 40 or older.

Factor in he only had one foot, WCW would have been gone by the time he was out & WWF buried him in 1991/1992, he was not facing a great future.

  • He became a drug addict because he was constantly in pain from wrestling on a prostetic foot. Pain killers for the pain and then blow for the uppers to complete the schedule of his wrestling career. bad combo

  • All the brothers were drug addicts, Kerry was taking steroids at a young age, on his return from his honeymoon in Mexico in 1983, he was found to be in possession of a huge quantity of drugs he had hidden .

He would pass out in his car & have to be drageed out & sent to the ring, he would sometimes fall asleep in matches, he once tied his shoelaces round a chair & fell over- all this before the amputation in 1986.

  • Wow I didnt know that you knew them personally. Thanks for the info.

  • I don't, I am just a long time wrestling fan, if you want to know the truth about them, I would recommend the 1988 Penthouse article on them- this can be found in an excellent book called Wrestling Babylon, which also covers the mysterious death of Jimmy Snuka's girlfriend among other things.

Also the Wrestling Observer issue covering his death, this can be found in the first Tribute book- along with many other excellent career overviews- both well worth the money.

  • any good/true articles or documentarys on kerrys death?

  • I don't know of any good documetaries- they all try to downplay the drugs stuff etc by keeping to the kayfabe stories.

The good articles are what I mentioned before- the Penthouse article from 1988 or the Observer Kerry death issue from 1993.

  • Go to RF video web site and type in von erich on their shoot interview page. You'll get a list of wrestlers that mention the Von Erichs in their interviews.

  • I think he was facing a 2 year sentence which was the same amount of time that Ken Patera served for the McDonalds incident. He would have been 35 when he got out, not 40, and WCW would have still been there

  • They should wait till they have a Mania in Dallas in the new stadium to induct the family

  • 18.02.1993

    18.02.2009

  • the Von Erich in the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2009

  • Kerry was my fav. I miss him and love him so much. I saw him live once and I can still remember it like it was yesterday.

  • Kerry passed away the day my daughter was born :-(

  • Kerry Von Erich For Hall of Fame 09

    Texas Tornado For ever

  • kerry couldve been one of the greatest ever, but kinda like scott hall, something personal always prevented that from happening!

  • The First Family of Wrestling: The Von Erichs!

  • 5 kids 4 dead....i have deeply respect for the von erich's the suffering they had to go true i cant imaine...

rip all of them let them be rememberd as the best wrestling family till so far.

    silence ,from Holland

  • No buddy 6 kids 5 dead

  • He died on the day I was born. (seriously)

  • How old are you now? And when is Your Birthday?

  • i am going to be 16 on the 18th of february

  • So what you're saying is that Kerry Von Erich died on February 18, 1993?

  • yes he died that day

  • Wow! I never believed that.

  • My hero.

  • The Greatest Wrestler to ever step onto a Ring!

  • ok know im not a newb ive been watchin wrestlig since a little kid in the 80's and i dont remember kerry in wcw not once,,but why the hell does it say wcw on one of the pics!? (2:04)

  • wccw will live on forever in my heart, kerry was the real modern day warrior and im am so glad i got to see him and his brothers perform they made me the wrestling fan i am today. I remember going to the coliseum here in Lubbock, anxious to see them, kevin if you ever read this, thanks for the memories and i promise no matter how exciting the wrestlers are today....none will entertain me as much as you and your brothers did..much love...

  • is there any connection in why they killed themselves?? just seems weird after one brother dies, 3 kill themselves?

  • Kerry Von Erich,Texas Wrestling Legend. I lived in the Dallas area when I was a young kid back in the early 80's. I will never forget how popular the Von Erichs were in Texas.

  • Great wrestler. His matches were really exciting to watch. Nobody really knows everything that was on his mind all those years.

  • only a brother is alive mother blames the father of the misfortunes of their children by making pushes wrestling thing they wanted

  • he looked a little like a younger john travolta....r.i.p.........

  • Did you know he had a foot amputated in 1986 and wrestled with a fused prosthetic?

  • is that true?

  • yeah, check his wikipedia page

  • one died my drugs i think

but rest killed themselfs but one didnt

  • How do he died?

  • He shot himself, he was wanted on some drug-related offence. I heard he didn't want to face jail time.

  • The first one to go (sorry to sound so rude) was Jackie, who was electrocuted at age 6. I loved them too. Kevin was my favorite. My bro and I imitated WCCW in 85 (at it's peak) and I was Kevin.

  • so long ago but still fresh in my mind

  • no offense or disrespect to the fans, myself included, but yall need to check out the Jack in the Box stoner commercial.

  • he looks like my brother so much lol R.I.P kerry von erich

  • Thank you, that was GREAT and he is missed!!!

  • THEY WERE THE BEST

  • There's not a day that doesn't go by that I don't think of Kerry Gene. I am so proud to say that he was my friend and always had a kind word or a hug if he didn't see me at his matches. I loved the man not the 'star'

He had a good heart and fentle soul. I'll

always love him and be grateful he was in my life for a time. God bless his family, they all were great in person, I really liked Chris, he was sweet and funny. Kerry will always be my fav wrestler and man.

  • thanks for posting this video. let us never forget the ones who paved the way and then went away. god bless all of our heroes who are no longer with us.

  • I loved all the von Erichs, but Kerry was always my favorite. I know you and "Gentleman" Chris Adams are winning matches in heaven.

  • Brings back the memorys of the Dallas Sportatorian when the Von Erichs ruled the house. The good ole days

  • does any1 happen to have pics of lacey von erich in fcw or anywhere when she's a little older?

  • Absolutely awesome. Great job.

  • Thanks so much for posting this! What a beautiful family. We were so blessed.

  • i bet kevin hurts everyday,last of the von erichs,god bless u

  • Did anyone know that he wrestled with a partially amputated foot caused from a 1986 motorcycle incident? You can notice a slight limp when he walks. When he went for a shower Kerry left his boot on to hide the fact he had amputated foot

  • Ok, one of the pictures of Kerry has a WCW logo on the bottom? I don't remember him being there. Anyone care to help me with that one?

  • i don't know either, but that particular wcw logo is from after 2001 during the invasion storyline in wwe.

  • I read up WCW signed him during post WWF but he no showed at a major event so they gave up on him.

  • HE WILL ALWAYS BE, WITHOUT QUESTION...THE MODERN DAY WARRIOR!! God Bless The Von Erichs....TEXAS IS VON ERICH COUNTRY!!

  • Kerry Von Erich was one of the Greatest Men who ever lived!!! A truly Fabulous athlete! & So incredibly gifted!! However long his life here on earth was, he made a positive impact! Without a doubt, Kerry Von Erich was a great role model for my generation as well as future generations of young men!!

  • Von Eric curse?? Drugs?? What happend to the legecy? Still not much better than Kerry Rolling up Flair for the BELT no matter how long it lasted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • For the life of me I can't understand how people with so much destroy their lives

  • Awesome video!!! He sure was a great wrestler, was one of my chilhood heroes and what an honore it was to watch him perform! I'm not much of a music person, but does anyone know the name of the song playing in the background? REALLY fits the video, once again, great job on this awesome video. Thanks for posting it!

  • This is "In the Arms of the Angels" by Sara McLaughlin. This song was in the movie, "City of Angels". Glad you liked it.

  • great job

  • it makes me sick how people always DE-value Kevin Von Erich.kevin was talented.and his high style .was the pre cursor to what have seen in the late 90s and 2000's .i wont stand by and let people shit on any member of this Great Texas Family.

  • I hear ya braveheart. kevin was my favorite also. even though I loved all the von erichs. kevin's high flying style always impressed me. now I know that style of wrestling originated and was very popular in mexico. however, kevin was the one who first began to make it popular in the U.s. kevin is the precusor to ray mysterio. anyway, lets not let anyone forget these great TEXAS legends.

  • Does anybody have that first pic of Kerry with the NWA title that they can send me? I can't find it online & it's a cool picture.

    Thanks.

  • Thanks for the memories.............

  • Beautiful tribiute. Is that little girl his daughter?

  • Yes it is.

  • murder maybe ?

  • A great tribute to my childhood hero! Thank You!

  • pro wresling just aint the same like it was in the 70s and 80s

  • Actually if david would have stayed around wrestling would be totally different,so many brothers,so much talent wasted, they could have taken over wrestling for along time.Shame we will never know.

  • David was slated to win the NWA title before his death. Had the family been able to stay together, there's not telling how different the pro wrestling landscape might be.

  • If David had not died WCCW would have been bigger than WWF. Everything that made WWF grow popular, the larger than life characters, down to the way wrestling was shot originated in WCCW. David had such a great mind for the business and was about to be handed the reigns to the company by Fritz when he died.

  • Out of all the Von Erichs, Kerry was the only one who

stood out and made it big time. Former NWA World Champion and WWE Intercontinental Champion.

  • Kerry was only the biggest eventual star, because David died before his time. Dave was the lynch pin of the Von Erichs. Kerry lacked Dave's charisma and Kevin lacked Daves drive and Dave's death seemed to take all the love of the business he ever had out of him.

  • Very good job. Brings a tear to my eye.

  • that was a great tribute...imho kerry was the greatest of all time...rest in peace great one.

The Modern Day Warrior lives on

  • Perfect song choice; Kerry would have been 47 on February 3rd, 2007. There was a DVD produced last year called "Heroes of World Class" that tells the story of the Von Erichs and documents the rise and fall of World Class. From what I've seen on the net, it's worth it!

  • I received the DVD about a month ago and it is worth it!!

  • how and where did you get it from, I've been a fan of Kerry and all the VonErick since I could remember, please tell me how to get them on DVD

  • well,i have v.1 at my house my father gave it too me. i'll ask him when i call him.

  • You can get it anywhere online. Just look up "Heroes of World Class"- ebay has it.

  • You did a wonderful job on this tribute to Kerry !

  • I am amazed a movie has not been made on this family!

  • Nice Job!!!
