@mrxcal123 You know God about as much as you know the man in the moon! Wake up and come to Jesus, before it is too late for you! Can't you see that demons have control of your mind?
@BoyLoverJessikuhh Do you want help to stop cutting yourself? If so, message me, and I will tell you how to become Born Again, like the person in the video did!
@joel10000a I am a strong Christian and am currently fighting to stop cutting. It sucks, because even though I know it's a sin against God and my body, I'm still addicted. But surrendering to Jesus doesn't automatically free you from addiction. (Although I've seen that happen) Some sin is admittedly fun. Cutting just sucks all around :/
@StuckInTheStargate You have a demonic problem, egging your flesh on to keep on cutting. I suggest you seek out Katie Souza's CD set on deliverance from demons, which you can do for yourself! Just Google "Katie Souza" and you should be able to find her website. Her CD's are also available from sidroth dot org. Start watching his weekly TV program called "It's Supernatural". If that program is not available where you live, you can watch his TV programs on his website. He is a Born Again Jew.
@StuckInTheStargate You are exactly right, sometimes demons do not leave, when a person becomes Born Again, and sometimes they do. I have no idea why that is, but I know it has also been the case with me, but in a different area from yours. You need the Supernatural Power of God to make those demons leave you. You are oppressed and NOT possessed. I don't believe a truly Born Again Christian can be possessed, because Jesus is NOT going to allow a demon in your spirit, where He is residing!
@joel10000a Thank you sir, but I am certain of my salvation. I know I'm not possessed, and I know I hold authority over the dark spirits (it didn't take much to get them to stop messing with my clocks lol). But as much as we can blame dark powers there is also a very conscious choice that happens. I can't choose to want it, but I can choose to give into it. This is something we all need to keep in mind. You can't help someone if they don't really want help :/
@StuckInTheStargate You are right about demons not leaving if the person wants to keep up with that particular sin, so I still believe you have a demonic problem, because you would be able to resist the temptation easily, if no demons were fanning the flames of your desires, in the background.
@joel10000a You sound like a passionate kind person, but I'd ease off the Christianese a little and make these conversations less like a Juice-O-Matic advert. You don't need to sell Jesus. Remember to always respond in love- in your heart, thoughts and therefore actions. If you come from a point of unconditional love everything else will fall into place.
@StuckInTheStargate It's different strokes for different folks - that's how I see it. Some people will not respond unless they are hit with a 2 x 4, to get their attention. I am here to help people find Jesus, those who express a desire to know more about him. As for all the others who heckle, I have no use for being nice to them! Jesus wasn't "nice" to the Jewish leaders, who accused him of getting his power to heal, from satan!
I understand your points, and believe me when i say i've thought over much of it before, this is complicated, and i really haven't got a clue as to how to explain, i just know that God has a plan and a reason for everything, i've got a few issues that i don't know how to deal with and i'm asking Him to show me the way and what He needs me to do. In some way God has always come through for me when i'm lost and ask Him for help.
You most likely, then , have demons oppressing you. You need to find a church that can deliver you from this problem! A Full Gospel Church can help you!
The thought has crossed my mind, i'm thinking there is a reason for everything though and for some reason or other i'm refusing to let go. Being a rather private person telling someone is a bit out of the cards, but as a clueless lost sheep who has no idea why on earth i'm still holding on i've given the problem to God and said I don't know what you are doing, but i'm in Your hands, please deliver me from myself and sin, cuz i sure am doing a good job of messing things up.Thanks 4 your thoughts!
That's the demons that are causing you to not want to turn loose. My thoughts are that God will not deliver us from demons. We have to do it ourselves, and you can, if you are truly Born Again! Just before Jesus ascended to heaven, after His resurrection, he passed the authority to all believers to cast out demons. There is nowhere in the Bible where Jesus prayed to God and asked God to chase demons out of someone.
Jesus took authority over the demons and He commanded them to leave a person. That is the same way we are to do it. The Bible says that if we resist the devil, he will flee. WE, ourselves, must resist.. All you have to do is to renounce satan and his demons, and command them to leave you "In The Name of Jesus". They MUST obey a command from a Born Again Believer, when offered "In The Name of Jesus".
You might want to get a book from Kenneth Hagin Ministries called "The Authority of the Believer" It is available on that website, and it is also available on CD, which you can transfer to your iPod if you have one, and listen to it when you have time. It goes into a lot of detail about the authority all believers have, over demons and several other areas of life as well!
True He gave us the authority, but on who's authority did He give us? In Mark 5 i believe Jesus Himself cast the demons out of a possesed man, and who is Jesus but part of the Trinity of God? Why would we as sinful human being be able to cast out demons from ourselves and others, but God not do it? So i suppose i'm asking why you are of the opinion that God would not deliver us from demons, but we ourselves must do it? If you don't mind explaining, that is.
Just go read the last few verses in the Book of Mark, starting with Mark 16:15. You will see. Also go read the first three chapters of the Book of Ephesians, and you will see the authority that was given to all believers. Oh, if you don't believe it will work, it definitely will not work for you. Just check out the Kenneth Hagin website, and look for that book.
My question isn't about whether we as Christians have the authority to drive out demons, i understand that we do very well. What i am asking is why you think it is all up to us? Because it is still in Gods name that they must flee, by extentions God is the one driving them away, not us, we just have the authority to command them in His name. So again, if you hand the problem over to God fully, will He not solve it for you in His time and way? According to His will?
This is the way I have been taught that it works. God wants us to exercise our faith. Jesus lived to set the example for how Christians are supposed to operate in this world. If Jesus never asked God to chase demons, then we aren't supposed to either. Yes, Jesus did ask the Father for some things, but if you will take close note of how Jesus operated, He would go off by Himself and pray to God, and then He would come back and command things to happen.
The proof of this is the parable of the fig tree. Jesus said HAVE FAITH IN GOD, Then He proceeded to tell us that we could have whatsoever we say with our mouths. The mountain moving verses. We are to take this literally, and speak to demons and things like the weather, and command them to leave us alone! There are many accounts of people being raised from the dead, in our lifetime!
I definitely believe it works on storms, to keep them away from you and your property!
It's very hard for us Christians to believe this! Jesus said that He came so that we could have and enjoy our lives, to the fullest! He equipped us with weapons with which to fight off he devil & his demons, the elements, sickness & disease, poverty, and literally everything that can come against us! We are overcommers to the max! NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST US WILL PROSPER! The Word means what it says!
Having the kind of faith to move mountains is easier said than done. Personally ii'm thankful i've even been blessed with the gift of faith at all, and God is constantly increasing my faith little by little, but learning to let go and let Him carry me is another example of something easier said than done. There is much i haven't posted in this discussion that could be... making things difficult for both our points of view. aside from that, i'm not really sure how to put thoughts into writing.
@joel10000a Most of your comments are saying that a person cuts themselves because either they are not a "real" born again Christian, or because they are possessed with demons. Have you not thought about the fact that self-injury is in fact a symptom of a real, medical illness?
@Evanescence9582 Nope! Demons are behind and at the roots of all sickness and disease! Was there any sickness or disease in the Garden of Eden, before Adam sinned?
@Evanescence9582 No, I didn't say that. The Bible indicates that it is God's will to heal everyone, but we have to receive healing. Both unsaved and saved (Born Again) people can receive healing. It happens all the time, all around the world. It is a mystery why some receive healing and others do not. No one totally understands this. There are things that can block healing from being received, such as unforgiveness in a person's heart toward others, and sin in a person's life, but there's more.
