It is NOT a robot. It is FAKE; there is a human inside it - as anyone who was there could verify! The only real humanoid in the UAE is Ibn Sina, the arabic speaking Robo, which was at the exhibition too - see the videost! This was one more cheap external attempt to overshadow what is really happening - by selling their fake suits as ROBOTS!

I hope people dont think this is real... That shiny chest plate is the type of 1 way see through glass that the person inside uses to see through (and is at head level), the arms connect to the body at 2 points (the lower one able to fit a human arm) and the legs are more than wide enuf to fit 2 human legs.

It is controlled by a actor inside. It would make a good consumer item if they brought it out to buy around robosapien v2 scale though.

it's a costume, cause of the size, the shapes and being darker near where the human is, it has an optical illusion effect disguising the real shape of the human inside, but the head, and perhaps parts like the fingers, are animatronic

Please don't give me all thumbs down, I'm not saying there's no one inside because there could be, it's just hard to believe because looking at the waist/hips/legs part, it would be very difficult for a person to fit inside there wouldn't it?

At first, I thought it was real but it's clearly onvious there's a guy in there. One of the biggest giveaway was the way he walks. The most advance of human robot currently around is ASIMO - the Japanese robot. It can walk, run, turn, stand on one leg, etc. and you can tell it walks different. But this one is too obvious, a guy being in a suit and looking through the shiny glass.

Still, mighty impressive.

There is definitely someone inside of it wearing it like a big suit. I thought it was pretty obvious *shrugs*. Like the other person said, the person inside is looking out through the shiny area on it's chest. The legs aren't that long, watch when he goes by some people or when he is staring at the guy in the blue shirt.

they did a good job on this robot. it actually walks around and can tell the difference between a person and a brick wall... Lets just hope he continues to charm people and never develop enough intelligence to go around killing people like the Terminators did...

My brother,(who's an ex-jockey!) worked on the UAE expo and he and his collegue, a very small person too operated these robots from inside. He said it took 4 months full time to train to be strong enough to wear the suits. He said there are a lot of electronics to do the sounds and the head of the robot was remote control. clever though.

There isn't a guy in the suit from 1:10 - 1:20 there is parts where you can see in through the legs, and you see nothing but wires and metal, if there is a guy in there he could only be in the torso of the robot, in which case, it'd require a 'little person' which is highly unlikely, it is most likely remote controlled.

It IS just a guy in a costume.. a guy came to my uni for some special event dressed like the ABC robot from Judge Dredd.. had loads of power-assisted limbs and stuff to help him move such a heavy frame, was really convincing.. but it was still just a guy in a suit at the end of the day.

We're a few years away yet from building a robot that can walk that smoothly..
