to be honest i shat myself with the first one cause if you stand still it comes towards you and roars at you and doesnt leave you alone. on normal it takes a full auto shot gun clip and 4 VS silencced to kill 1. or 3 ultimate power throwing knives.

Guy, this actually works, flashlight their faces, when they growl shoot the gun to somewhere behind their back. They should start walking away shortly. If it doesn't work, run like hell!

You need to read their body language,if he comes to you and he starts growling at you and kinda like threatning you back off a few steps he should follow you but then he will leave,after which he will return after a few seconds

They are easy to kill with knives and arrows even on hardcore ( provided ofcourse that you hit them in the forehead every time ), if you don't wanna kill them,you have to move when he doesn't see you but REMEMBER even if he doesn't see you don't turn your back on him

I used the bolt guy and throwing knives and found it more fun to kill all the bastards. Though I died like 4 times doing so.

im glad that i grabbed a db shotgun before i ran into these.i can usually take thm out with 5-6 bursts (2 shells per burst) on the highest difficulty. the heavy armor also is handy. i would advise against running unless you know exactly where your going

hahaha. wow, when i first saw the achievement for killing a librarian on xbox, i was like wtf cuz i thought it was a human that like shot at you or something. nope. lol i shouldn't have watched this though, spoiled it :( anyway, i love Metro 2033's vibe. It WILL make you panic at times, i have also jumped a few times. This is one of the best fps linear games i have played in a while, and still yet to complete. I'm at outpost atm :)

I always laugh at internet badasses boosting how they just killed all the librarians with a couple shotgun shots to the head.

STOP PLAYING ON EASY MODE GODDAMMIT! Went straight to the Hardcore diff myself, and hell, I'm constantly out of ammo, throwing knife's at em, etc. I spend my money on a scoped VSV rifle several levels backwards, and apparently missed the Hellsing, so I'm kinda running low on everything. ...and I'm loving it!

Actually they're fairly easy to kill provided you still have throwing knives or you invested in/found the Hellsing. But it's more fun to sneak past them the first time, or run past them.

@Teemuslayer how do you have low ammo on hardcore? I am playing Ranger Hardcore and i constantly have atleast 200 rounds with me at least at all times. Not to mention the fact the heavy shotgun came out that replaced the Hellsing for me. Maybe you need to aim for the head more

well... this game takes place in post apocaliptic moscow metro 20 years after the missiles hit. you need a gasmask because of the nukes there is no clean air to breath. there are monsters because of the radiation some people had to evolve to the conditions so they turn into monsters so thats the synopsis!
