replacing the inner wires of a tone arm is not that bad i have fixed numerous 1200's over my 12 yrs as a dj you just need to take your time when fixing equiptment like this . why pay someone a god awful amount of money to fix a tone arm when you can do it yourself ... djproaudio how much do you charge to do it.... ?
Ya, you should not mess with the tonearm in that fashion. If those gold prongs are pushed back, they are almost impossible to get back into alignment. It would be easier to just replace the tonearm, which is what we would do here. If we tried to fix it, it would cost you more in labor, than it would if you had us replace the tonearm. So in the long run, it's cheaper to just get it replaced.
