do yngwie malmsteen play with humbuckers? no.

single coils have a way more lively tone than humbuckers. tweak em' a little and they sounds great and unique. with humbuckers you are just gonna sound like everyone else with a plain "blowtorch tone"

Most solos in heavy metal and hard rock are examples of shredding, but it really depends. When you hear a couple of examples in difference from shredding to simply a solo, it makes alot more sense. Theres alot of good players to look at too, Yngwie Malmsteen, Paul Gilbert, and many more.
