Probably a suitable engine for the weight of that thing. Those volvos are great, reliable, sturdy cars that still run great today, but were wayyyy too heavy for those little 4 banger motors...

I thought this was impressive too, but it really does make sense. One turn of the engine is one turn of the engine, it doesn't matter if its the original I4 or this V8 engine.. :)

I thought most tachs "listened" to each cyl fire off electronically, IDK anything about them though, so I'm going to give you the BotD.  But, yeah def. makes sense that way.
