I loved watching this when I was a kid & always wished I'd dream of Dreamland too! As an adult now, I felt sad when the kids went to bed still hungry. Thank you for uploading!
I know it's supposed to be happy, but it's so hard watching this, thinking that there really are poor children in this world. Just should never, ever happen. :(
Such a sweet cartoon, with such a great message: It doesn't require much effort to be blessing to someone else, but it can make all the difference in the world.
Thank you for sharing this old cartoon which is one of my favorites. The old cartoon showed what kids back then dreamed about and it was special because kids didn't have as much as today. I think we were the lucky ones:)
I don't know if anyone has already mentioned this , but this cartoon along with many other Max Fleischer cartoons can be yours if you purchase the Somewhere in Dreamland dvd. It's cheap and well worth the money!
Lots of memories. It was my brother my favorite cartoon when we were younger. Thankyou so much for this.! Even this cartoon being so old it's brought back thanks to you :)
i still absolutely adore this cartoon,i first saw it when i was about 5,as it was on one of my videos with a few other silly symphonies.still makes me fill up with sadness for that poor family and how they dream of a better life
I find this cartoon hard to watch. =( ..I'm almost 30 years old and like everyone here remember seeing this as a kid...in tough times like this with our economy, it really makes me feel bad for those who are less fortunate..even if im broke and unemployed, I still try and find time to donate to those who really need it more than I do..
Fond childhood memories of this cartoon...My mom (who passed away ) recorded this cartoon for me on a vcr and reminded me how thankful we should be to God that we're blessed with house, food, clothes, and loving parents. Thanks Mom, Thanks Max Fleischer, Thanks be to Heavenly Father...In Jesus's name :)
OMGOSH!!!!!!!! I CRIED WHEN I 1ST SAW THIS CARTOON!!!!!!! SOOOO SAD!!!! THANK-YOU!!!!! IVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THIS CARTOON FOR SOOOO MANY YEARS NOW!!!!!!
i had this on an old VHS of old public domain cartoons when i was a kid. my mother sold them in a yard sale years later. to this day i wish that i could have stopped her. but thank goodness for youtube i guess.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! My sister and I have been searching for this for ages. The ending stayed stuck in my mind through all these years: the little lad sticking a fork in his bum!
I love how they scream at the end when they realize that its not a dream and all that stuff was indeed for them! Their like, "For us? YEEAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!" lol! Makes me excited for them! ^___^*
I have this cartoon on two dvds....and i have loved it since I was a little girl. It is so charming, so...just..beautiful! Makes you wanna be in that world right along with those kids and just enjoy all of that sweet chocolate ice cream and eat from the popcorn field and eat some of that giant cake! I love this cartoon! It is one of the GREATEST ever made!
this was my favoutire cartoon when i was like, 5.my mom didn't make alot growing up,so she only had vcr and tapes.one of these tapes someone donated to us was this one..in a way when i was little,i related to this story alot..and now, older,i really apperiate this cartoon.c: thanks alot for uploading this.
@AwkwardLogic I was going to write a reply, but you basically said everything i was going to say!
