@rockyson990 even though I love the F/A-18F and hope to fly one someday, I honestly would have to say the F-15. The F-15 was built for air superiority and its doing its job, it has never been shot down yet. But the F/A-18 has more diversity, filling the role both a Fighter and Attacker, but also can carry fuel tanks with fuel tubes so they can perform as a air tanker too :)

@motormusic1 It's fixed wing, same as F-16. The F-14 and 15 have sweep capability but dwarf the 16 & 18 in size. The F-22 is fixed but IMO not as menacing-looking as the F-18.

the difference between an f/a super hornet and a f/a 18 hornet is that the super hornet is much bigger, more advanced and its air intakes are rectangular (or square)

and the normal hornet just has round shaped intakes and is smaller

Also, missile technology, Russia is quite advanced in that field. So again, we wouldn't know. :)

@sikorsky158 Seriously, get your facts straight. The F18 here is a super hornet with AESA radar which is far far superior to what the old F-18s and especially the Tomcat had. Sure, the F-14 was great and you all loved Topgun I'm sure but it's day is over, the Super Hornet is less than a decade old. Plus, the Phoenix missile was never combat proven and was limited by the F-14 radar, so yes, the F-18 would have it before it could even launch a phoenix.
