What a lot of people do is ruin these bikes with straight through exhausts which does not seem to have happened here. Some V Twins sound great with open pipes, but the CX is not one of them. My first big bike was a CX500 in the early 80's and I now feel a yearning for going back to my routes with another one, but in the Cafe Racer style I'm such a fan of nowadays.
The camera was strapped to the footpeg of another bike for most of it, just the end where another rider was riding and pointing the camera at me, kinda ;)
I have been seeing a fair number of stock cx500s around for sale here. I would be interested in working one over, but i am hearing nightmares about getting parts, can anyone respond to me re: this problem, Boneyards for cx? thanks, verne52002@yahoo.com
@verne5 Nows the time i feel to grab one of these truly nice motorcycles as prices are now beginning to rise .
Testament to just how good they are is the shear number of survivors from the first models in 1978 on, some with mileages that would shame many other bikes and still running sweetly.Parts are almost all available new if you search and there is a massive amount if you can make do with second hand/pattern.
i have an 82 cx500b, now where's that angle grinder?
