  • The first version released did have Al's vocals. TVT were being complete asshole's over Trent's participation, so Al re-recorded the vocals, but used Trent's track as his guide vocal. Trent's version later showed up on TVT's Black Box compilation and it's also on Ministry's Greatest Fits album. For some serious fun, play both versions back to back.

  • Shit what year was this? Must be 1989/90

  • There were (at least) two versions of this song, one with Trent on vocals and one with Al Jourgensen. The one with Trent (this one, btw) was never released due to legal issues Trent was having with TVT Records at the time. I have the CD with Al's vocals and this is definitely the one with Trent singing.

  • This version actually was released on a compilation Black Box - Wax Trax! Records: The First 13 Years. It was the only version I'd heard for years, I didn't know there was a Jorurgensen vox version out there till recently.

  • I was reading in a later interview where Al Jourgensen said that it was really Trent on vocals they just added a lot of compression to make it sound like his voice. After reading that I could make out Trent's voice a little easier.

  • This was released in a 4 song CD under 1000 Homo DJs.. I used to own this version. I only remember one other song on the album "Better Ways".

  • No one screams that way... except Trent Reznor

  • nope it's not trent it's al jourgensen from Ministry... Bye!

  • i have never heard al jourgensen's voice in my entire life, but i know trent's voice. trust me, that is trent reznor singing that song. hands down there is no debate. that is trent mothafuckin reznor of nine inch nails

  • This song is so fucking good that whenever I have my own football team I want this to play when they enter the field to fuck somebody up!!

  • Fuck yes! Trent reznor doing a Fav Black Sabbath of mine. Just what I was looking for

  • theres a ministry version and an NIN version for those whoe dont know.

  • Nativity in Black = best tribute album EVER

  • This IS Trent Reznor. He was close with Al and Revolting Cocks.

  • Its Trent........your deaf if you think its anyone else.

  • This is a great version of the classic BS tune. But, this is NOT ficking Tent Reznor. It's AL JORGENSON from Ministry.

  • Nope, it's Trent...

  • YOU SURE.....???????

  • Yes, that's why I put "TRENT REZNOR" in the video's title.

  • hell, that sure does make sense..... maybe that's why you have a job and i dont.....

  • You need to go back and read the liner notes ofthe N.I.B. album...it's 1000 Homo DJ's (Trent Reznor IS is in the band), but the vocals for this track were done by AL JOURGENSEN, of Ministry, et. al.

  • Nope, It's Trent , asshole

  • Nope it's Trent.

  • Echo?

  • there were 2 versions recorded cause tvt wouldnt let the trent version be released on wax trax (they later bought wax trax though) this is the trent version. listen to the version on the actual album u can tell the difference.

  • What is the actual album? I have this exact song on a nin album. If there is a version by ministry I would love to here that too.

  • My mistake. 1000 Homo DJs was a side project of Al Jougensen. They released a couple of singles.

  • ficking??? you German or something??? and Al's last name is Jourgensen... you're fron Texas, right? explains why you thought this was Al singing...

  • sounds slightly different than the version I have

  • i remember reading along time ago, that there is an actual "undistorted" version that was available somewhere. its so extremely rare, beyond even knowing if it does exist or not. again, long time ago i read.

  • rock n roll baby

    lock n load

  • Great musicians, but the lead singer either needs to get a new microphone, or take a few more lessons. Sing it as if you mean it, man!! Vocally overdone.

  • that singer is trent reznor cmon man seriously

  • Ya ok loser, you'll NEVER be as great as this singer. NOR as TALENTED. YOu'll die an idiot.

  • lol, the singer is Trent Reznor. You don't tell him how to sing.

  • I have this single. I never knew Reznor was in it.

  • Isn't this the NIN version?

  • No.

Read the previous comment, they'll explain where it's from and who it's by.

  • nin never coverd this song

  • SUX... Black Sabbath version is the best!

  • heavy as fuck indeed do you know anny torrnet for the track or album ?

  • Wow! Someone out there knows what the f*ck I'm talkin' bout.

  • Perfect WW3 music. Lets go atomic warriors!

  • I thought Al Sang This Song?

  • No it is was Al's side project but Trent did the vocals for this one song

  • "No it is was Al's side project but Trent did the vocals for this one song."

The Trent Reznor on vocals is from the Wax Trax "Black Box Set" of industrial music classics.

1:04-1:05 and 1:08-1:09 are the reasons I don't like the Trent Reznor version of this song. He screeches like an owl.

The version with Al on vocals is from the 1000 Homo DJ's CD ... along with other good songs like Hey, Asshole ....

The Al version is even heavier than this one, and is one of my favorite songs.

  • nightowl8936: SCREECHES LIKE AN OWL???!!!!....LMFAO!!!!....you idiot.

  • I can't even describe how amazing this is.

  • no this can be found on the Black Sabbath tribute album Nativity in Black which is pretty good

  • It is also featured on Wax Trax Black Box was was released in '94

  • pretty good is an understatement.. when I bought that tribute album and first heard this I nearly shit myself

  • dazzle 0607, the version where Al sings is on Ministrys' best of album, this is a pure demo that was released on the black market and can be found on most NIN bootleg albums...

    fucking a!

    dKa

  • how do you achieve this sound? msg me if you know

  • This version would rock if the guy that recorded it hadn't held a microphone 10 feet from his 8 track.

  • This version rocks!!!

  • THE worst version ive ever heard

  • Clean the cum out of you ears and listen again.

  • Wow, I can understand what he's singing, unlike the Sabbath version! (Not that's bad, though.)

  • Trent distorted his vocals.. "just enough". Still enjoy this one, better than the original Sabbath one.

  • Same here.

  • That definitely is Trent singing,

but I prefer the one with Al on vocals... suits the background music a little better.

Plus the samples used are better.

    5/5 all the same.

  • the one with "Al' signing is really Trent. Trent's label wouldn't let him appear on the Sabbath Tribute...so Al took the track and ran it through an effect and said it was him...problem solved ..but I agree I am so used to the other track that I like the 'effected' one better...even better than the sabbath version...this riff is just...AWESOME. Iommi is pure metal genius

  • I don't think there was a version with Al singing; he said he didn't want to rerecord it so he just distorted the vocals. There may have been a second take, however, because this sounds a little different from the Nativity in Black BS tribute.

  • wow! nice vid, nuclear death and destruction is so beautiful.

  • two best bands in the world together.. more please

  • the vid and the music both are cool

  • This song made headliners Red Hot Chili Peppers piss their fuzzy dice pants at Lollapalooza 2. Everyone at the festival went Apeshit and by the time R.H.C.P. took to the stage the crowd were like "...umm, can we have Ministry again?".

  • fuck

    insta-fav

  • I think that this cover is better than the original ;)

  • I'm a huge Sabbath fan and you are right, this is better than the original.

  • i have to say trents vocals are THE SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was about to say... "Did Trent Resnor sing for 1000 Homo Dj's?" rofl. Was like... NO WAY!

Yeah I agree... Who cares about views but that does get annoying when you search for something and you nothing but bullshit. Ppl do that on Limewire lots, it pisses me off.

  • He did sing for 1kHDJs, but TVT records wouldn't release it because of their contract disputes. His original vocals were released in a later version of the song. I'm pretty sure this is the Trent version of the song.

  • i read this one a site this day:

,,1000 Homo DJ's is a Ministry side project. The vocals are Trent Reznor, but the music is Ministry (Al Jorgenson, Paul Barker). The vocals were distorted to sound like Al's voice because Wax Trax! wouldn't let Trent and Ministry collaborate. So they had to lie to the lable and say it was Al singing and not Trent. '' 'So there are two versions of Supernaut but both with Trent on vocals. The second was just distorted to sound like Al and the first not

  • actually it was TVT that said they couldn't release it, Reznor was never on Wax Trax! Although Ministry was.

  • lol, thumbs down for speaking the truth.

  • I've loved this version for years but this is the first time I've seen the lyrics.

I don't know -- did Oz write them?

  • The origonal Sabbath record [Vol 4] lists the credits as Ionni/Ward/Butler/Osbourne and doesn't specify who wrote what... however I'd say it's a safe assumption to say Ozzy did the lyrics.

  • Geezer wrote the lyrics.that's what says in Black Sabbath bio by Steven Rosen.

  • Fair enough - I just made an "educated" guess. Thanks for clearing that up man!

  • at Your service.

  • I bought this "12 vinyl the week it came out and these are not the vocals on that. Guess I got the "Distorted" one, although when Al sang this live he sounded just like the "12.

The story behind record label rights isn't surprising though- 1988 until around '92 were summit years for industrial giants collaberating. This is one of the best. Another one I'd love to hear is 'No name, No slogan' by Acid Horse; I think that was Paul Barker and another dude- Xcellent "12 cover art. DJ Mokugohan

  • geezer wrote most/some of sabbaths lyrics. awsome vid btw.

  • Not a bad job on the vocals and their style. Feel bad for the guitarist though, not bad but Tony Iommi blows him out of the water.

  • this song is not one of trent raznor song but

a project call"1000 homo djs".it s a side project of the ministry singer.

  • i know, thats what it asys in the vid description.

the reason i mention "trent reznor" in the title is that more peopl will recognise the name as opposed to "1000 homo djs"

trying to get the music to as wide an audience as possible - spread the love!

  • That has to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

  • wow, you hear text?

that has to be the dumbest thing i've ever READ.

  • How about you put the real band instead of pretending it's another just to get more views you dumbfuck.

  • great comeback! well done, have a biscuit!

  • weezer shut up. its nt to get more vews look at me i got a video with lots a vews its about spreading music u cock, even i know2 this is 1000 homo dj's now but id never have found it if it wasnt fot it saying trent reznor

  • exactly - it's all about the music!

  • Check out my Ozzy Civilize the Universe Vid I nabbd my footage from Limewire to lol

  • Good job by the way i do the same thing when i get bored make vids lol

  • Great cover!

  • I love explosions and Nine Inch Nails

  • wat a cover version...just mad... been looking 4 dis tune 4 ages..... its just makes u go all hyper..... !!!!

  • bottle of strawberry MD2020 and a spliff anyone? What a tune. Nice find starkitten...whoever you are ;)

  • Tsk - mccawpa - Paul, as if you don't know me from the DM boot wearing days. I mean realllllly! I'm offended. ;op

  • Oh the memories! Love it!

  • I'd been looking for a copy of this for ages but alas I couldn't find it on vynal, cd or tape... Oh the joys of limewire and broadband!!!

  • Limewire, isn't that illegal? Tsk. Only joshing. I don't use such things...I rely heavily on youtube for my trips down memory lane. *sighs* Hugely relieved that someone else likes this song too!

  • its on a compilation cd. "NATIVITY IN BLACK" tribute to black sabbath. BUT U PROBABLY KNOW THAT BY NOW. ITS A VERY GOOD VERSION.....TRENT KINDA MAKES IT HIS OWN. ANYWAY, BUCKFAST AND JOINTS , I HAVE FOUND, WORK BEST WITH THIS PARTICULAR TRACK.
