if you don't feel the magic while listening to these unbelievable voices, you need to check your pulse. beautiful, powerful & moving at the same time. wow.
They worked and sometimes they work with Kate Bush....see Kate Bush`s Rocket`s Tail and other songs of The sensual world`s and some songs of Kate`s The red shoes album....I know, because i am Kate`s fan since i was five years old!Greetings from Portugal
@F0reseer - if you were the one who said the thing about not replacing Gershwin with this then it was addressed to you - padfootandmoony's comment was retarded - yours was about as retarded - I'm sure Gershwin loved this shit - since when is one kind of music supposed to replace another - it was just an inane thing to say. Peace
@RameshChotanagour keyword was "replace," which means no more Rhapsody in Blue, Porgy and Bess, Summertime, and all the musical legacy of Gershwin's work. The other poster implied american music is unimpressive compared to this. I was simply pointing out that we have a rich history of great works also worthy of notice: Philip Glass, Aaron Copland, John Coolidge Adams, Gershwin, and in popular music...countless others.... this is beautiful but it's not as if America is a musical wasteland.
This is amazing. Listened to this several times now... can't get enough of it. Makes me feel like climbing up a mountain and screaming at the top of my voice at the summit. The young woman singing the high part looks and sounds like a Goddess.
Bulgaria is made in 1908 on Macedonian teritory ,by Russion colonials. The colony is ruled by German king till 1946.After that it was SSSR pupet satelite state till 1991.Your poor republic is made in 1991 when eastern block colapsed. You speak Macedonian language, you have Macedonian Chrsitian religion and Macedonian alphabet. And you cary the filthy mongol name Vulgar big shame Russians gave it to you

I'm tired of everyone arguing. The fact is that the music is beautiful no matter where it's from. Gosh, why can't people simply enjoy the music instead of posting all this garbage?

This type of folklore tradition is much older than 500 years of Turkish colonialism in some parts of Balkan peninsula. The Turks were one of the most crude invadors in the hisory. Their goal was to destroy everything, that wasnt Turkish. Most of the christian sacral architecture was destroyed and people could preserve their proud and identity only by songs and dances. The real and true demonstration of everything that you call Turkish in comapring with us is Hagia Sofia.
Just sum up everything that is truly Turkish of it and you will understand what I am trying to tell you! We dont live turkish style of life, even they ruled most of us for many decades! Most of people in this type of Europe dont like Turks, becose our ancestors lived terible, during their ocuoation.
omg what an ignorant fool u are. islam architecture envolved completly seperatly from ortodox till 13-14 cent. when turks ocupied moost of byzant. And sure is only that u took more from islam then muslems from ortodox coz they were the rulers in that time.

Yes this is not about the Islam. It is about Turkish culture... We ruled all Balkans 500-years if you accept this or not... This is not our problem... Please think If you can still speak Bulgarian today, ti shows that Turks have never behaved Colonial. Compare with Africa. Africa ruled by Europeans just 100-year, most of them speak European Languages... Dont be Stressful... We like your culture and respect it... But these clothes and song belong to Turks... You cant change this fact...
Oh my God! Their ethnic clothing and jewelry reminds me so much of the Yemenite clothing and jewelry! And I know Bulgaria is in Europe and Yemen is in the Middle East - but what similarities!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
You are right. I meant we shared common history and culture. Therefore, we have common music, foods and traditions... But, nobody can change the true is that for 500 years 50% of people who were living today's bulgaria were Turkish...You liked our culture and accepted that... Thanks... Just thanks...
that comment of the turkish guy is really absurd.....like if turkish didnt created anything....he could talk about math or science...but instead wants to think this type of singing was taken from turkish.......this is actually the opposite of colonialism..hahah!! He invaded other country, and think the other country's culture is his!!! HAHAAH!!!
Now seriously...this is a billion miles away from turkish music, and its unique in the world cos of its harmony and phrasing and voice color...period!
Bulgarian nation is half Bulgar, half Slav, hal Thrakian. Origin of Bulgars is from Asia, we are from Iranic group, so it is normal to have common things.
