  • i got the 2010 model in black and the engine is just amazing and with akra pipes it sounds ... eargasm

  • @Renvatio I want too :'( You lucky lucky man! :D

  • Why still i love my 2004 R1 than all new model ????

  • The only Sportsbikes I'd buy are made by Yamaha.

  • i wish to have even old R1 it just a queen of cuteness between other bikes

  • does this one burble like the crossplane v8 engines?

  • I stopped watching at 23 seconds. Looks like drums you'd play in a band. How stupid.

  • DUDE! This is the best crossplane Yamaha R1 video ever. Amazing.

  • 4 pistons xaa :P this is a motorcycle

  • It looks like 神保彰(Akira Jimbo)...

(ex. a bass part by both feet)

  • I'm so gonna get one next summer!

  • its like...the guitar hero...but its the piston hero??

  • my brother has one of these!!

  • Perhh.......memang cun. Tapi harga dia mahal sangat.... Harap kerajaan dpt turunkan cukai import moto......

  • nk import buat ape lorh..

dkt mlysia harga lbh kurang 94 ribu

  • i love this bike.....but could someone explain to me why yamaha came up with the cross plane crankshaft.. nothing is different except for the fact that the firing interval between the third and fourth explosion is shorter... other than that there is nothing else is there. it's not like there are more firings in every cycle.....does it make any diff.....

  • Smoother and less noisy engine! Yamaha R-1 is the closest road legal RACING bike currently in the market.

  • not quite

  • There are two types of torque created in the engine, The torque created when the cylinder fires and the torque created from the crank shaft rotating. You get the actual power from the torque form the cylinders firing, not the later. So by changing the firing intervals, you get more torque from the cylinders firing and less form the centrifugal force of the drive shaft rotating. Which means more power and smoother power.

  • i'm not sure if he is akira jimbo looks like his kind of set up but not exactly(great drummer seen him live)neverthenless a perfect promo commercial!!i dont know wich sound i prefer...i want drums that sound like the r1!!!

  • Nice bike. Nice drumming.

Im not sure but I think the drummer might be a guy called Akira Jimbo?!?!?!

Love that the sound of the bike is like the M1.....!

  • just great !! the perfect bike

  • The '09 R1 and 1000RR are sexy ass bikes!

  • Boss

  • state of art

  • Sound like a Ducati[2] my next bike

  • wow, a prog rock advertisement that got technical. AMAZING! being a music geek I must say; the time signature didn't really change too much, just the accents did. The cylinders still fire inside/outside/inside/outside, just at different intervals. So, the time signature before was 4/4, and it's still 4/4 it's just more obvious when it's count out to 8/4. Dang drummer was trying to say there is a 1/4 measure, no thanks.

  • Sound like a Ducati =/

  • This 09 R1 design resemble the '98 - 03 modells. At that time it had no rival regarding performance and looks (and they still look decent today). I think they've done a great job and history is repeating. That's why the R1 is such a notorious bike. It has nothing of 06 zx-10, that didn't sell because the bulky looks not the bulky exhaust, but if you're bothered by the exhaust, it's simple, change it, that's what decent people do! :)

  • Thats sicckkk!!! im seriously considering getting this new R1.

  • It might have a sick engine concept and better than previous years, but it's very blah in the styling dept. Yamaha didn't do their homework as this looks like the 06-07 Ninja ZX-10R which didn't do to well in the showrooms because of the bulky undertail exhaust pipes.

  • hmm i get what you mean...

but that can be easily solved by adding aftermarket pipes.

motogp style...would look great i reckon

  • they have done it with a reason, mainly they have put performance first(which of course if most important) and because of the design of the engine and the swingarm they had to place the exhaust like this, and yea, u can always buy aftermarket exhausts :P
