@Films4You Maybe if you use a Pneumatic Jackhammer on a regular basis causing Chronic exposure to vibration.... but this little tool is just used to effect installation of pipework as part of a contractors duties, so he wouldn't use same for hours at at a time....
Would be worried when cutting through existing pipework where there may be water left in pipe that it would blow the motor, the only place i would use it would be hard to reach areas where the likleyhood is there would be still water left in pipes. like the idea though,
I had bad experiences with this tool. It spiraled along the pipe. Burred heavily and took a long time on some cuts. There is the occasional, hard to reach, cut when doing service work but why own a $120 tool and use it once a month?
The Copper Tubing Cutter is exclusively for cutting copper and will not cut EMT. One of our product team members would like to contact you, can you provide us your with your contact info?
mine worked great untill i was removing copper pipe overhead . as you cant always drain every peice , water ran down the unit and after a few "wet" cuts it just stopped working. it has been sent away to get fixed.....not sure if it will be covered in warranty. ffs
@CATEGORY5D Yeah, you can see the slight "fence" inside the inner circumference of the cut, just like any copper tubing cutter that I've ever seen. I have a nifty reamer from Yellow Jacket that cleans this up nicer than nice. Used it for four years straight, never even had to use one of the replacement blades included in the blue handle with black cap.
For plumbing, this would not really be much of an issue. But for HVAC refrigerant, I like'er smooth.
my hubby bought one, returned it after a few hours, bought another one, same issue...does not grip the pipe, just spins it around...would be a great idea if it worked!
@455elisa Well you have to hold the pipe with your other hand, just like you would if you cut it with a standard cutter. Does your hubby cut or drill wood without holding it as well?
They let us borrow this at our plumbing supply shop when we don't have our cutters. My forearms got bigger from using my manuel copper cutters alot. It use to burn my arms up! Damn "Type K" 1 1/2"- 2" copper!
i have one....it broke afte 3 months...warrenty covered it. and i do service plumbing it only gets used a few times a week....and i love it...id buy one once a year if i had to....its not as fast as it looks...but its as easy as pie
@kirby75ca thanks its good to know that there warranty covers breakage I saw one at Home depot the other day and could be handy when I am working on baseboard.
I use a rothenberg cutter, just as fast and costs hundreds less

It works great on 3/4" but cutting 1/2" really really difficult. Also, does it cut EMT conduit either galvi or aluminum?

@CATEGORY5D
The M12(TM) Copper Tubing Cutter performs a nice clean cut and does not leave a bur.
