    The first book he published was "Black God" which talks about the black church and community. It also talks about concepts in the black community. Dr. Peebles is the owner of Winston Derrick Publisher which he started in 1968, which he had declined numerous of times, so he published it himself.

    I enjoy Dr. Peebles feelings on Black Gods. His discussion the black church and the black commmunity was very interesting. Dr. Peebles was able to travel around the world to understand different social problems in the black community.     It is very interesting, Dr J Peebles went to Pearl high school. Later he went to school in Maine and a number of other schools as well as TSU. He did a lot of traveling outside of the United States. At one time African Americans did not have opportunity to develop books and other educational materials beneficial to us. He wrote a book and others said it was unconventionaland before its time.

    Dr. Peebles is the owner of Winston Derrick Publisher which was created in 1968, 1969. It started because no one would publish his book, so he did it himself. He felt like African Americans had nothing to read that taught them about their Heritage, only what some one else told them. For example, like Christianity started in Europe, when it really started with Jesus in Bethlehem. He attended Pearle Hight, TSU and Univ. of Main.
