@parawhore239 You could always engineer a slimmer profile engine, but it really does need an engine of some sort to push that much air. Your other alternative is to make a wing-in-ground, or ground-effect vehicle, but that also needs plenty of push behind it, and home-made versions are usually the size of a jetski with wings.

@lolvids2 they're called hoverboards because they hover just above the ground. what you thinking of is more of a "flyingboard." hoverboards have to maintain a close distance to the ground, therefor hovering. if it were in midair, it would not rely on the ground for lift, and would be able to supporty itself. That would mean flight.
