Have to agree with you. This piece has always been my favorite, especially for what it represents and I have to admit that, sometimes, the enthusiasm of those singing can bring up the joy required for it.

I think it was FAR too fast too and the sopranos took a breath! Honestly! The singing was so.... messy.

I agree. There was too much untoowas instead of unto us. There needs to be a slight separation of the two words otherwise it's going to sound like one word.
