señores Omar Vizquel, el campo corto de los gloriosos LEONES DEL CARACAS se retiro hoy 29-11-07, Omar los fanaticos venezolanos y en especial los del caracas nunca te olvidaremos eres el mejor
I'm from the north=east Ohio area and I still have alot of respect for him for being the last guy to leave Cleveland from late nineties era. The Indians in the nineties truly were one of the best put together teams in baseball history.
They had allstar level players on every position. I didn't say they had one of the greatest records of all time, I said they were one of the best put together teams in history which they were. During that era they were second only to the Yankees. The Yankees don't all ways win either, especially this season, but they are one of the greatest teams.
Like I said a few post up "Plenty of good teams don't win the big one in their sport. Sometimes it just doesn't work out." Yeah they had nothing to show for it I'll admit that, and it sucked to be a fan in that situation, but they were still a great team. Alot of the allstar level players started to leave because of it and alot of them won the world series with other teams, proving they were great, they just couldn't make it work for the Indians.
I haven't once in this entire discussion said they were THE best team ever. I said they were one of the best put together teams. Please read and understand what I'm saying before replying to it as something I did not say.
what your not underatanding is that every team has good players that play better on different "teams"..the cleaveland team in the 90's was "good" but nowhere near the "great" teams baseball has ever had...
You don't get it at all. I am stating that they were one of the best PUT TOGTHER teams. Not that they are on the best playing teams. They had allstar players at every position. You don't get what I'm saying at all so I'm done with this pointless conversation.
no i understand you perfectly...you're just a homer that's bitter about cleveland's playoff futility..I am completely aware about the number of all-stars cleveland had but if they were the best "put together" as you say..they could have pulled out one championship.
I'm not bitter about anything. I was more behind other teams of that era anyway. I am just stating that they were one of the best all around teams. No weak spots like other teams have. I have also stated that the Yankees of that time were better put together than them so they took most of the championships of that era. Now I'm sick of this discussion, and I won't be respondiing again so don't bother.
i love omar, he's not the greatest hitter in the world but he sure is the best shortstop

well if you believe that it would sicken me that they had nothing to show for it...playoff failures...cleveland's pretty familiar with that..
