@mentalarmory I couldnt understand why it wasnt showing the pins, but i found a simpler method to embed the map. You enter the address/addresses you want into google maps and click the link button, then copy and paste iframe into your html page. Took literally 20 seconds.
I am a .NET developer and I didn't want to put any time into researching how to do this. I looked at this video and got it done in a split second, without having to think. Thanks it was really helpful.
so i was overthinking it. i friggin sat here for 1 hour trying to configure an API, and i didn't even want to create an api site, i just wanted to add this guy's business in google maps to the website i'm making for him
one day i'll look back and laugh at myself for this.
Great video!!! It was really helpful is there any way that you can create your own icon to represent a location on the map? I want the ability to have my company logo (a tree) to be visible and be used by other who want to post on my custom my maps
@Hoopstr13 Thank you! Yup you can, first you have to host your logo somewhere online (try something free like flickr or photobucket if you don't have your own hosting) and make sure its a nice small size. Then go to edit your map, click on the pin of your location and click the icon. Then go to 'Add an icon' and paste the direct url to your image. Now your new icon will be in the 'My icons' tab, and just select that one. Hope that helps, let me know if it doesn't!
Thanks, very informative style. I am using a website builder program which employs a wysiwyg editor and when I copy/paste the html link in the program, that is what I get just the link not the map. Is there anyway around this?

Which program are you using? When you paste the code, you want to make sure you paste it in the code view. Let me know if you still need help.
