  • His recording of this piece for DGG with Szell and Berlin is still my absolute favorite. Fellow Fournier Fans: if you don't already have this recording, get it immediately. You won't be sorry.

  • When you heard him live, he had a heavenly tone quality. My late cello teacher went in to raptures over his tone quality and deep interpretation.He was also very humble and dignified.Music came first, never showing off.
