What the fuck? Hakkinen got a pole lap time of 1:51:680 but in 1991 Ayrton Senna's pole lap time was 1:47:813 how the hell can Hakkinen be almost 3 seconds slower in a car 9 years more advanced? That doesn't make sense.

track had been changed a bit and ofcourse many rule changes, especially lack of Qualifying tyres, instead

@AyrtonSennaFan97 This was one of the first laps of the session. His actual pole time was 1:50.646. Senna's car also had wider tires with no grooves and the car was wider. In 1998, Hakkinen got pole in the 1:48's... Track temperature/weather can have a big difference (cold air = more power; hot sun = less grip; the "qualifying cloud"). Tires change from year to year (companies bring different compounds, tire war vs. spec tire, etc). It's not really an accurate comparison.

The sound of this car was truly amazing. Everyone at the time had v10's obviously, but the exhaust configuration Newey designed made the 2000 & the 2001 car have that beautiful wailing sound.

We all know the current v8's sound shit, and I'm a bit worried what the upcoming v6 turbo's will sound like! :-(

Yep thats what im thinking, ive seen it in other Häkkinen quali laps so it cant be fully the exhaust sound, and ive seen videos from 1993 practice of Senna showing with his hands a motion of stabbing the throttle to teammate Häkkinen, so appearantly they both put it to good use :)
