Would band like this succes this days? With that classical hint, and the playing skills? Would ELP, Yes, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull become succesfull today?
Cool I have all their Vertigo output. Of interest too is that guitarist Ricky Gardiner went on to play with Iggy Pop (The Idiot & Lust For Life albums + toured in his band) and David Bowie (Low era).
Never heard of these guys(and gal) before. AWESOME. But what's with the guy in yellow? The credits list a vocalist, but all he does is jump around like a hyperactive kid.
Wondeful to see this video! Thank you very much> I was lucky to see the guys 3 times in early 70s in Edinburgh. Stunning band - incredible musicianship - but what is more incredible is the fact that they didn't make it as big as The Nice!
Sad, because their talent was equal to the Nice and as an act -they were every bit as exciting.
However, their albums are still beautiful, quality items.
According to Beggars vocalist Martin Griffiths, the band recorded about five songs for this show, as was the case with most of the groups who appeared. Maybe the remaining footage will turn up.
best line up of an always changing band (1970 to 1979) They recorded "waters of change". That album belongs to my personal top 50 list ! I´m sad that I will never see a video of them performing some w.o.ch. stuff....
@Unhalfbricked Absolutly agree. Thanks to BeatClub, Köln and BrehmenTV. This take is fist time I saw BeggarsOpera after listen to the vinyl-album for 30 years and the CD the last 5 years. I love their symphonic style and their tecknical skills.

Thank God for German TV. If it weren't for them we'd have hardly any surviving TV footage at all of the great British prog bands of that time.
Thanks again Germany.
