yeah i've owned this exact amp fyi lol.. its about 1200 rms at best with a 14.4 volt at 1 ohm & yeah... Also people never gain match the amps and say YEAH ITS SO MUCH POWER IT DESTROYING MY SUBS lol, its distortion not power.... this would be capable of beter output with a better amp but then ur gonna need a good battery ( Or more & alts etc)

they sold these subs @ a eletronics store by my house for like $80 with MA audio 3000 watt amps for $249 and they honestly suck for what they say they produce there no where near 4000 watts 2000rms each there more like 1000rms each but FOR THE PRICE there a good sub.

You know, your forgetting one main thing, what voltage the Fets operate at.

Remember, you get different output with different powers, 14.4V will never be as much as 18V and there will always be a big difference at the same amperage, just look at the 140V system in the RF-t15k, that monster only uses 300A from the alt to run a monsterous 15000W because it runs through a DC-to-DC transformer (which are very expensive, i've looked, trust me)

Just because your friends "smoked" his subs with a soundstorm amp doesnt mean that they are underated. You can very easily take an amp that is 400rms and blow a sub thats 1000rms by clipping the amplifier due to inproper settings on the amp and/or voltage drops. These amps are not 8000rms not even close, if you were running that much power at the very least you would need 4-5 batterys and 1-2 H/O alts to sustain that much current draw. Steve meade knows what he's doing, you don't.
