Having been there since the very first Deicide album, and seeing these guys when Florida was dubbed the capital of death metal, I am VERY pleased at how they have evolved, and indeed matured. Through it all, Glen still manages to be as over the top as ever. That man earned my respect a long time ago, and years later, even now with me no longer subscribing to Satanism as my viewpoint, I still tip my hat to him. I don't like the church, I don't like what those priests were doing, I don't like the Spanish Inquisition, or the Crusades. And a lot of Christians entirely reject this type of music, they talk about tolerance, yet they reject this music and anything against their beliefs. I too am an Atheist, but I do need to clear something up. There's a difference between Theistic Satanism and LaVeyan satanism. One, of course, is pseudo-Christian beliefs and the other is Atheistic but has a set code of standards that you required to obey. Hell, I don't really need to change anything about myself currently to be considered a LaVeyan Satanist. Look it up, it's quite interesting :) And no, they don't kill children or puppies... @suckapunch565 ah damn, i got that wrong haha. wasn't a city renamed constantinople after him? i'm not very good with roman history, i was more of an ancient greek guy myself. i swear the catholic church is completely fucked now. like, i'm a protestant, and i think it's far more accepting than catholicism because we don't hold prejudices against people. like we accept gays if they want to follow the religion. plus we don't have a stranglehold on the people, and we can pray when we please.
