  • That was absolutely wonderful. As a true patriotic American, I love this country very, very much. No one and nothing will EVER change that!

  • Seeing Challenger fly brings me to tears and chills. And having Lee Greenwood sing doubles the effect. I have a cross-stitch and a painting of an bald eagle hanging in my home and I call them Challenger's pictures.

  • Wonder if thi is High Point NC near Greensboro, NC It is good to see Lee Greenswood still singing. He sing other songs nearly this good. I didnt realize his voice was this high. He still looks great

  • @atp1962 I'm a student here...it is next to Greensboro. This clip didn't show it, but Challenger almost knocked into Lee Greenwood there at the end. :)

  • have been a soldier for 12 years. I took an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, and thank god every day that cheney and bush are gone: the biggest enemies our Constitution has seen in a long time. if we forget what made america special way back in 1776, we will not great long, nor will we deserve to. this feel good song and pictures of a bird are designed to make you overlook what's wrong with america today. what would a real patriot do? resist tyranny 1776.

  • Glad to see they allowed this on a college campus.

  • I am sitting here positively bawling! That was so beautiful. I have always loved this song, but have never been as moved as I was today. On 9/11/02, my daughter and I rode around in my car with this song blasting on the stereo. We played it over and over. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has served this country and bought our freedom!

  • This video of Lee Greenwood singing GOD BLESS THE USA, and the flight of Challenger brought tears to the eyes of this Navy veteran of the Viet Nam era. Knowing what this country is capable of, and how WE can do anything if we band together and remind the politicians that WE are the boss. WE tell them what we want. WE don't let them dictate to us.

GOD BLESS THE USA. May she stand proud against all enemies...foreign AND DOMESTIC!

  • When this song first came out, I heard it sung at a Navy Birthday ceremony, overseas, during the time of the Gulf War. Immediately, EVERYONE stood tall in honor. I also had this sung at my retirement ceremony. It still brings tears and chills.

I served for 23 1/2 years, my husband is near completion of 30 and now my wonderful step-son is Army and in Afghanistan. Freedom is NOT Free and I would gladly serve again. I love this MY/OUR Flag and Country. Indeed, God Bless the USA!

  • As a Veteran of the US Military, I am DAMN proud to call myself an American Citizen! I served my country with dignity, making it to 1LT in rank. This nation is THE GREATEST NATION ON EARTH BAR NONE!!!!

  • The words of this song and the symbolizism of this majestic bird embodies the heart and soul of our blessed United States!

  • I always get chills when I hear this song but I started crying when that eagle took off! What a wonderful combination! I bet Lee G. got chills, too!

  • Lee Greenwood is immune to chills. He creates them....big ones.

  • this is a great and amazing video!

  • What a voice! What a GREAT song!

  • I get chills when I hear this song. I am so blessed to be born in a free country and I pray we always have those who defend her to keep it that way. Tha eagle gave me goosebumps, such a majestic sight!

  • Hey, have your defended your country yet? If not, then you have NO right to criticize. Once you have stood shoulder to shoulder defending OUR Nation, then come back and we will lieten to your ramblings.

  • It's most fitting that you chose this identity--assobaggo---the only thing is that is doesn't quite adequately describe you--

Pack your bags and go to one of the countries that would cut off your sorry head for making your idiotic moronic remarks!!!!!

  • How anyone who stands when the flag passes by can criticize this song is beyond me! And if you're physically capable of standing for the flag, and don't....you belong somewhere where it isn't flown.

I think it was an awesome choice to sing for people who are just starting the next phase of their lives; appreciate what you have, but remember that nothing is more important than your freedom to make choices. And don't forget WHY you have that freedom...

  • You are an embarassment to the human race, assobaggo. I hope you never have to be defended by anyone from the USA.

It isn't about heartstrings. It's about caring, something you obviously know very little about.

  • It seems the only embarrassment is you referring to yourself as one with an IQ under 40... it must have tugged at your heartstring or you wouldn't have watched it and made a comment about it.

  • It touched the very core of me.....the song and the words...Touched is not quite the right word to use....

Were facing some tough times ahead and its scarey...

G-D bless us ALL!!! Bring our boys HOME!!!

    Sharon!!!

  • Sharon, You are correct in your assumption that we are facing tough times. I believe that you are mistaken, however, in wanting to "Bring our boys home." If they were all here, there would be no one over there to defend you, or me. We MUST keep someone deployed to keep the enemy off our shores.

God Bless us ALL. Keep our "boys" safe and allow them to return to their families safely at the end of their deployment.

    Gary

  • I'm amazed a college even allowed this song to be performed. Too bad we don't hear more of this- we need too!

    God Bless the USA!

  • God Bless The USA and God Bless our troups and keep them safe and bring them home soon!

  • Amen!

  • I love this song! Some people right now during the election and the war need to listen to it. I am not for the war, I am for the troops and pray for their safe return (no offense intended to anyone with this comment)

  • With the hair on my neck and my eyes filled with tears, god bless the usa..

  • Every time I hear Lee do this song, the hair on the back of my neck stands up! God Bless Lee and The United States of America.

  • I can't believe I did that again, was going for the thumbs up and due to a medical twitch, hit down before I got there...that is twice on the vote here at youtube, think I should quit voting...I apologize deeply
