man i always used to find salmanders under my neighbors logs but now i can t find anything ive found 3 snapping turtles atleast 20 painted turtles and 3 snakes not sure what because i only saw the tail and i tried to grab but didnt work can u give me sme advice?
Thats great for salamanders, you would be surprised what they can thrive in. i've flipped rocks in 50 degree weather that were still frozen to the ground and found salamanders under them. Its 8:00 now so i would reccommend a road cruise.
I really enjoy watching and learning with you. I`m from DC and we can find some cool animals here.
I only have one good friend who likes to go herping with me, but it is not really 100% herping, it is a combination of hiking and looking for any kind of animals at the same time, but i`m always looking for reptiles than anything.
I`ll be watching your videos and maybe i will be motivated to make some with the animals i always see here.
The warm front has been threw Ontario, where I live, and has melted quite a bit of the snow.. It's supposed to get cold up here again on Saturday.. It's awsome that you found some stuff already, looking forward to some more vids.. Thanks for posting!
I'm not to smart when it comes to Amphibians. I went herping the other day and caught a tiny salamander. I had no idea what kind it was! First herp of the year though!!!

Dylan when it was 60 yesterday there were salamanders???? dang when do they usually come out?
pspsrule 3 years ago
Late Feb early March. Mostly depends on weather.
All it takes is a bit of semi-warm rain around here and they get up and movin'.
I have seen them out when there was still snow on the ground in places.
