The first part is as long and boring as the original. The first submarie just took you around looking at the seashells later they started the bubbles to say you went deeper and had mermaids and sea monsters. The film was awful dark when it finally got to Nemo stuff. I trust that you see it better there. But they need to get to the good stuff a lot faster.

I went on that ride, and the worst thing is, i'm claustrophobic, I kept telling my mom 'What would happen if this thing broken down?!?!?!' and my mom just said "It wont, I promise' and what was the worst part of it? Towards the end, the water turned purplish red, but it was a SIREN going off, I thought it was part of the ride, until the ride completely stopped and it couldn't move for a couple of minutes.

@IJFan123 I know how you feel. I'm afraid of heights and falling. But the submarine never goes under water. I can't believe how many people are afraid of this ride. The body of the Sub is in the water and you enter through the top hatch, but door hatch out never goes under the water. If it did have engine trouble they could always open the hatch and let people out much easier than a lot of rides. But they would much rather get it going again than put you in the water.

When I had a Cheer Competition in DisneyLand a couple months back.. A few of my Cheer friends and I went on this ride... Very boring.. We were wasting our time all on this when we could have been going on space mountain or something... I highly do not recommend this... Maybe 4 little kids, which, thats probably what it was made for... But if your older, you probably wouldn't enjoy this.. Just my opinion.

@luishaka9 the hatch doesn't go underwater, and these things were BUILT by General Dynamics. These people build military equipment, and when they were taken out of storage for the Nemo ride the guy inspecting them said they were good for another 50 years. Nothing to worry about.

@luishaka9 It doesn't really go deep at all. the bubbles just make the illusion. You can see the top of the submarines go in a circle around the pool the whole time you stand in line waiting to ride. There is a lot more danger on other rides if people ignor safe rules and do something dumb like get up from their seats.

Thank you for posting this new ride. we were in Disnleyland April 2008, our best visit ever ! must have hit it at a good time becuase all lines were 0 to 5 minutes at all rides except for Nemo - 45 minutes and no Fastpass. Passed on it cause we'll be back. Also Matterhorn was broken (no surprise there) and Small World was still under renovation.

Take 1 part underwater ride, add some fake looking underwater props, a lot of bubbles and you have a ride that can be switched to suit just about any underwater movie for kids.. any adult is going to see through this boring stuff within the first 2 seconds..

The real enjoyment you get from this ride (or any other in the park) is from your children getting caught up in the magic. Its all for the children. (and big children too) Thats the point. Of course you or any other adult "see right through it". That's not the point. All of disneyland is inexpensive parlor tricks and illusions. I have yet to go on this ride but I have to say that for an amusement park this is an educational ride, not many kids understand that coral is an animal and not just a rock, or plant. It's good to personalize something about the ocean to a child, then they will want to protect it.

Little Mermaid? NO. It used to be the classic Submarine ride back in the 80's. That ride was just a sub under water, and you see fish and mermaids and all that fun stuff.
